Another way to solve it is get rid of neighborhoods and just make the system instanced. Many other MMOs do this just fine. As it stands right now, there is only 2,880 plots per server. That's BS for many servers.

Except the neighborhoods are what make FFXIV's housing system stand out. Who cares how cool your house is when it exists in a pocket dimension that only you and your close friends know about? How does that encourage a sense of community?
