    Caps Attributes~

    So I was melding some of my gear trying to double and triple stack some gear and i did get 1 triple stack a bunch of doubles.. but that is besides the point i started thinking, if i triple stack this is this even gonna be worth it? The reasoning behind this is because i am sure that there are caps in this game I.E. a soft cap and a hard cap. For those that aren't following me at this part a soft cap your attribute gets some reductions since your so high in that stat until you hit a hard cap. For Example let's say Dexterity soft cap is 300 and you have 330 (already past soft cap so you dexterity has some attribute reducution), then you add a materia on it and it but you over 350 so lets just put you @ 354. That 4 extra Dexterity you have is useless and not needed until the cap is raised again. Only reason i am asking for this is because if your @ 354 but you don't know the hard cap and you keep adding dex or w/e you just wasting your time until attribute cap is raised again and you could be putting something else in to raise your dmg more since you already @ cap with dex. Of course the above is just an example not saying that i have this much dex or that the soft cap is 300 and the hard cap is 350. These numbers where just used as an example.

    So here is my question can one of the developers please give us a solid answer on soft and hard caps? or if this even exist in this game at the moment.

    I don't believe this topic has been answered by the devs yet.

    And I fear it may be one of those topics that will be meant for players to discover.

    From the different testing threads of attack power vs strength, attack magic potency vs intelligence, and such, the soft cap has not appear to have been reached. I don't believe anyone has reached the HP cap(s) for slotting HP materia all over the place either.

    [Below I think I may be misunderstanding]
    If I understand some of these damage posts correctly, there's a point where Strength and Intelligence don't yield the same efficiency against a certain level of mob.

    i.e. To use 100% of your attack power against a Level 50 enemy, you need 250 Strength to overcome his 250 Vitality. If you have less his Vitality, say... only 220 Strength, you may end only doing 85% of your attack power against him. If you have 300 Strength, you'll still do 100% of your attack power.

    I'm probably completely wrong on this, but that's what I thought I concluded from reading those threads.

    Good to know yeah any findings and conclusion whether right or wrong is something to build on until we have the facts and I think you probably right that they are going to make us find it out but i figured it never hurts to ask thanks for the reply!
