I don't know how to hide stuff, sorry in advance. Also I never played Revenant Wings, or the Tactics remake for PSP, if it matters. But between Tactics and 12 I noticed that in Tactics there is no summon for the Taurus stone that we see in 14's Rabanastre or at least we don't see anyone use it to summon a Lucavi, although I THINK that's the one that raises Malak in chapter 3. In 12, it corresponds to the esper Chaos. So that would insinuate a lot about the boss of the raid in 14, and fill in some holes that are now about 20 years old, by implication at least. Also, while said boss does not initially look like Chaos, with no wheel and the like, he does have the 4 swords, and a similar theme in appearance. Given how closely they're tying the lore of the ascians to 12, and 12 to Tactics, I am interested to see what, if anything comes from all this. But I do think its neat to imagine that if someone has used Taurus for evil in Tactics, this guy is what would have popped out. It might not be interesting to anyone else, but it is to me. I'm also interested to see if these stones end up being tied to the ascians in some way. Just in case, the Taurus ascian would be Mitron. They've already linked the light masks of the existing ones to the emblems of certain espers in 12 so its not out of the question. Gonna keep my eyes open. ^_^

Ivalice-lore incoming, a bit ranty and sorta trivia-y for FFT
On a meta-level, it's because the guy from GARO was in charge of enemy designs this time around, and possibly Matsuno was having fun bringing this previously dummied-out boss to life; on a lore-level, I find it very interesting we have 2 Espers from XII in Rabanastre, then this previously unknown boss for Lesalia. Interesting yet appropriate given where Rofocale shows up, even the enemies changed from completely XII inspired (2 Espers, Seeq, and Bangaa) to Tactics (Rofocale and Argath) when we left Rabanastre for Lesalia.

Also interestingly, Rofocale (otherwise known as Focalor) is actually the SAGGITARIUS Lucavi, Duma being the one associated with Taurus, wether this means the rest of the previously dummied out Lucavi (Zebbeb/possibly-Zebub from Baalzebub, Sel, and Cheraub/possibly-Cherub) will make an appearance is unknown; granted, Rofocale was the only one TRULY dummied out as the other 5 don't even show up in the game's files, so this point could be moot.

Also also interestingly, the Lucavi associated with Pisces (Mateus' sign in XII) was originally Leviathan, which is why it's no surprise we got Mateus instead, we already have a Leviathan among our Primals (and Tactics HAD Levi as a summon). Hashmal showed up both in Tactics and XII

Also, since I just remembered, the main argument against this being the same Ivalice as the Ivalice Alliance games IS in the raid itself
The Cataclysm ages before Tactics wiped out every non-hyur race (or drove them further into hiding if you want to get conspiracy theorist), and we know for a fact it happened after XII not only because the races are still around, but besides that, the game takes place in the year 706 in the Old Valendian calendar, Tactics takes place way afterwards near the year 2000 Old Valendian, so it's impossible for the ruins of Lesalia to be BELOW Rabanastre.

I can pick apart Jenomis' flavor text if asked, too, they do give some tought on the "auracite" and other stuff lol

Duma was the Lucavi of the Taurus stone before FF12 came out.also it was Scorpio that revived Malak, as Malak had the 2 stones that Alma was carrying (scorpio and taurus)) and of the two, Scorpio is the red one, which Rafa pulls out.

It's cute that you guys think I'm fanboying for FFT/FF12. I like both of those games, but if you want to know what a man rally fanboys for, ask him how much mithril/gems he's spent on a specific realm in FFRK.

Over 1200 mithril in FF6 pulls as a day 1 player, and about 75 dollars on FF6 banners to boot. Yet RNGesus saw fit to make Yuna, Y'shtola and Ayame my waifus. You will be mine one day Terra.

    As for Yotsuyu

I think amnesia is probably the culprit. It'll probably result in lots of painful flashbacks and encounters with the locals for her, once Gosetsu gets back to the mainland. Gosetsu will heroically come to her aid, knowing that it would ruin him in the eyes of his people even more, but also knowing that while she may be the "same" person, she has no recollection of what she has done, and in that sense is an innocent. If Tsuyu never regains her memory, I can see her and Gosetsu retiring to some out-of-the-way corner of the Steppe or Yanxia and living as father/daughter for the rest of their lives. But such a happy ending won't be theirs I'm afraid.

Yuyuhase has, so far, shown to take enjoyment in his actions. Laurentius, meanwhile, has been shown to be rather conflicted. Given how easily led he proved to be it was a rather questionable decision to let him join the Crystal Braves in the first place and given what happened to Wilred it's not a huge surprise that he felt the urge to follow Ilberd and Yuyuhase. Self preservation can make people do things they regret simply so they can live to see another day.

As for Baut, whether he shows up in the MSQ's remains to be seen. His side quests make it clear he is likely to get a pardon, though.

    Completely off-topic, but... pfft.

I don't play FFRK, but I do play Fire Emblem Heroes. For the upcoming Score Attack event, I threw that much at it trying to get one of the current banner units so I could train her up over the weekend (weekends give double skill points, and I have another unit that doubles it further) and have a nice +40% score bonus. I did get some 5* units, but... not the focus unit I wanted.

So, guess I'll have to make do with her half-brother husband (long story; Judgral is messed up) and a +20% boost, and hope I can summon her with the currency gained from said event or throw another 75$ at it on payday and pray. (At this point I could have gotten one of those Sphero Star Wars droids...) This is very odd, since my luck is usually much better and I don't need to throw money at it (or if I do, get what I want pretty easily). See, this is why I just buy trading card singles instead of gambling on packs...

Ayra must be a DRK because of all the Salted Earth we saw.

I'm definitely interested in what they're doing with Fordola's storyline. The revelation that she's being forced to relive her atrocities from the receiving end... Well, to be honest, that has got to be just about as close as any punishment can come to true justice. In my mind, she's come a good chunk of the way toward redemption already: She's been harshly punished, she feels genuine remorse (or, at least, seems to), and she has proven willing to work to atone for her misdeeds. The trick will be convincing the general populous of Ala Mhigo to give her a chance. They have a lot of very justified anger at her.

The plotline with Tsuyu, as I've mentioned elsewhere, I'm less happy with... but folks have pointed out that it could be seen as a counterpoint to Fordola's situation. One finding redemption by losing the knowledge of the awful things she'd done, and the other gaining redemption through gaining the knowledge of the awful things she'd done. I do hope that Yotsuyu isn't faking it; as far as I was concerned, the castle's collapse was Yotsuyu's death. Seeing her alive at the end of 4.0 was disappointing - but learning that she really HAD died, in a sense, tempered that feeling, somewhat.

Dunno anything about FFRK or FEH, but in Brave Exvius, Cidolphus "Thundergod Cid" Orlandeau is the undisputed King of Salt.

I agree that Fordola's punishment, while not meted by the Ala Mhigans, is very fitting. They may never forgive her (as expected, there are reasons she got the moniker "Butcher"), but more importantly I'm not sure she'll ever forgive herself. This is why I believe she will walk the path of atonement, never really feeling like she's redeemed herself. Hopefully it doesn't end the way it did with Ysayle...

There are... circumstances surrounding Ayra that made players salty about her, specifically:

    • She's extremely powerful when built right, and her skillset uniquely emphasizes speed over everything else.
    • Her banner came out just one week after the last; usually there's a 2 week gap.
    • Her banner is the first to have only one new unit (her).
    • It was assumed she would be the new score attack reward; she is not.
    • The actual score attack reward unit turned out to be... another sword armor knight with some pretty, uhh... I don't wanna say bad, but... artwork that isn't to many peoples' liking. Other than a unique skill that always lets him double as long as he's above 50% HP, there's nothing that really makes him stand out.
    • Due to the high power of the units in the previous banner, many people spent their stockpiled currency trying to get them (and under the aforementioned assumption Ayra would be an earned reward), and now have nothing left to try getting Ayra with.
    • She shares a color with another focus unit in her banner, meaning that you have an equal chance of getting him instead, and he's been around for a long while. The other focus unit in her banner is a healer, which... tend to be less than useful.

Me? Ayra would be nice, but I don't feel like playing those odds; I have a ridiculously built Black Knight anyway. I just want Deirdre from the previous banner for a good anti-dragon mage (not 2 copies of Minerva and a practically useless 5* Boey). It's available for another week, so here's hoping. In the meantime I'm having fun with my well-built Arvis and his training buddy, crazy awesome Valter, so... ehh.

With every new big reference, there's always someone ready to connect all the dots joining Hydaelyn to the rest of Final Fantasy in some giant multiverse, all the while ignoring the deliberate, obvious contradictions to the lore of the source game. It's the Lore forums' equivalent of a seasonal typhoon, so just board up the windows and wait it out.
