Indeed he is! The relocalization done for FFT: War of the Lions changed a few people's names for convenience, more accurate translation and...stuff (Teta became Tietra because her name in spanish...it's another word for breast lol)

Also somewhat spoilers for MSQ and Ivalice

There's some mention on how the liberation of Doma and Ala Mhigo has inspired other colonies to rebel themselves, among them DALMASCA, while we see the ruins of Rabanastre, it IS stated that the people of Dalmasca survived and are now under imperial rule, this cooould be a call forward to the future RtI tiers, where we may team up with the surviving Dalmascans, or they may even show up in the MSQ, though I find that unlikely

What do you think the Grand Companies are my dude? Each company has a branch consisting entirely of adventurers such as the players.

Ishgard could probably stand for some Adventurer Initiative though (C'mon give us Temple Knights GC and Ishgard Housing you know you want to Squeenix)

Well then I stand corrected. Still strange where those bunch of adventurers were at the end of the instance when we might have needed their help for uh things.

Main Scenario

Heavensward had an amazing main scenario for 3.0 but a very disappointing patch scenario that rushed many things. 4.1 is a very good start. Lyse is a lot better written this time. Nanamo is just pure awesome. And we had a trip to the freakin gold saucer to talk with Godbert. Damn. The last fight was frustrating but I am in love with the music. Arenfald-Fordola shipping anyone?

Post credit scene 1: So Yotsuyo lost her memory. Or is a very good actress.

Post credit scene 2: wut? Is Elidibus masquerading as Zenos now? Or was the Zenos we killed a fake? I mean we never saw Zenos use the echo till the last fight.

So Rabanastre and Dalmasca are built un top of Ivalice in this version and are not a part of it. Interesting. Not sure why there are chocobos there when we were lead to believe that the people of Othard have no idea what chocobos are.

Kojin

If this were a sci-fi setting I would think that the girl we rescued is talking through the doll with a michrophone. This will be very interesting. Kami aren't supposed to be real. Of course belief can make anything real, but this is definitely not how primals work. Come to think of it, are the Kojin even beast tribes? They don't worship primals and don't summon them at will.

Not much to say about the actual "episode" but that preview......GILGAMEEEEEESH!!!!!!!!!!! I wonder where will we fight him again. Big What? Will he fight Yojimbo? We can only hope.

Meh.

In all seriousness, I'm still apathetic about it. Working with non-Imperial Garleans was nice (even if Ramza was kind of a douche when first we met him), and humanizing Solus by having him be a patron of the arts was another nice touch. That Varis is cracking down on and censoring such entertainment just shows he's... well, basically Solus v2.0, and my "likelihood to ally with" value is going down.

That said, from what I skimmed it's... basically trying to do the framework of Tactics. Translate the Durai Report(s) so that the world knows Delita was helped by Ramza (and that Ivalice was a really real thing).

A lot of the references went over my head, since I only played about half of XII and never touched Tactics (I got Fire Emblem for my SRPG fix - hoping I can get Olivia Alter before her banner expires in Heroes. I mean, I got Azura Alter, who is probably objectively better, but I like getting all the limited time waifu units). The only ones I really got were Mateus and Ba'Gamnan.

Not sure why they're making such a big deal out of the auracite. Isn't it already known to be extant on Hydaelyn - a white variety Moenbryda supplied us with to kill Ascians, at least?
