Shingone Savage can only be defeated by instanced housing. These days other MMO's have instance housing. However i draw the line at WoW's sad attempt at it during WOD. Yoshida please do limit your WoW influence/inspiration to a bare minimum.

I think they struck the right balance with Fordola. They didn't excuse her actions completely but at the same time they didn't show the Ala Mhigans as particularly pleasant or rational when it came to her, either. Fordola and Yotsuyu have a lot in common - both of them were abused as early as childhood by some of their own people. It's completely understandable that it served to twist them. In Yotsuyu's case she ended up with nobody to rely upon to protect her. In Fordola's case she saw her father murdered right before her very eyes...and she almost got hit by the rocks being thrown herself.

Well I am not sure if I could stay rational in front of someone that might have killed/tortured people that I love. And at least they showed that some of them are at least willing to thank her for saving them even if they still cant forgive her. I find that to be a very human view and reaction of such an situation. Its just not that easy and simple to forgive someone for doing horrible things especially if its about people you love.

(I am talking about the recent Ala Mhigans, not those that threw the stones.)

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

After seeing that one scene where Hien cuts through a Magitek Sky Armor, I was reminded of this...

    Well, well...

Look who I found while doing the M'naago delivery quests...

I wonder if Fordola can/has sensed him at some point while he's been in Ala Mhigo.

That added touch the delivery quest was really interesting and makes me hopeful for more of this to come

I appreciate the fact that the final Kojin quest
was actually a proper instanced duty where we got to aid them in battling their enemies, unlike the previous beast tribes where you mostly just stood and watched while they handled everything themselves.

I'm hoping they'll do the same for the inevitable beast tribe collaboration quest, because not getting to lay a finger on that smug Miqo'te guy (Whose name eludes me) in the two previous ones bugged me.

Some sort of advanced golem using materia as a soul stone, is my guess. But with his sentience and intelligence, there's always a chance that the ritual prayers used by the Kojin infused the materia soul stone with aetherial energies not unlike a kami/demi-primal.

Food for thought on the nature of the kami... Alisaie likens belief in the Kami to belief in the Twelve. And we know that it's possible to summon primal based on the Twelve. There's no reason Susano isn't like that. Also, the Blue Kojin more then likely know what kami is in the Yasakani-no-Magatama. That's the reason they want you to go get it for them in the first place. What they didn't know what that enough people have been praying to Susano over the centuries for the objects he inhabits to become saturated with aether which when combined summon a primal.
Also, I'm not sure where, but I swear I read somewhere in-game that Susano is the kami of the Ruby Sea in it's entirety. If someone could confirm/deny that, that would be great. If Susano is the kami of the Ruby Sea... well, the first major thing we see the kami (specifically the "kami of the deep") do is give the WoL, Lyse and Alisaie the ability to breath under water. I find it pretty ironic that Susano could be the one actually doing that right before we kill a primal of him.

Regardless, whatever kami are, they do exist. It's also mentioned in the quest Of Kojin and Kami that the kami themselves are the ones who pick what objects they "inhabit", but that they do prefer objects that are old, exquisite, well-made, etc. The Kojin themselves don't have anything to do with it; they're just looking for things that the kami tend to like to be in. So Tsukumo is the one choosing to inhabit the puppet for a time. Given that materia is what happens when the aetheric energy in a (well-used) object is condensed, the aetherial energy of kami's vessels must become very high. Actually, the Kojin say one of the reasons they have a treasure house is so that they can bask in the divine energy coming out of the objects in it.

TBH, there's a lot of things out there that are similar to kami. The Anima weapon is pretty much one (exquisite weapon and is housing an aetheric entity). Elementals are a lot like them (kami of the Twelveswood?). The Twelve are what Eorzea worships instead of kami. It's just that whatever kami Susano is supposed to be is so huge that it's aether is enough to make a primal.
