Unable to complete version check

So i am geting this lovely error and the launcher is telling me to redownload the entire game!!! Never had this issue before. Already tried all the fixes and nothing helped (restarting launcher/pc, rebooting router, safedns, changing the cfg/deleting patch files in my documents etc.)
Anyone else have this issue or found a fix?

If it's anything like what I went through, better pack a lunch. I was spinning my wheels for about 10 hours (after the game was back up) before the problem was fixed. We were of the very few that had that problem, so were low-priority as far as Squeenix was concerned. It's why I always dread updates (that, and the fact they always happen on one of my nights off). It's always X+ hours to me, not just X hours.

I had the same problem today. I had to change my DNS server and it works.
