    Got it on the fifth try. From my experience (could be different for others of course) the crash always happened between 750-800mb. So, get past 800 maybe you'll be okay.

    Mine went from a constant .08MB/s for around 1000MB to suddenly shooting to the usual 3.50ishMB/s out of the blue. Wrapped up super fast once it did. Are the PC files wonky or did someone trip over a wire? >>

    That is a old DNS problem that show up from time to time.
    Turn off the router, wait 10 sec and turn it on again.

    I managed to to get past the version check error. If anyone has tried deleting temporary files and doing the config fix and it still hasn't worked, try downloading SafeDNS (it has a 15 day free trial) and having it open when you open the launcher. You should be able to download the launcher update and you can turn SafeDNS off once the launcher is patched.
