and here people thought I was losing my mind when I said SE needs to update servers, it really does feel like 1990's tech. I mean why else would things go so slowly when you try to lusterate or the input delays? I understand my net is part to blame, but it is mind boggling how people are ok with a game with drastic differences of 120-150 ms vs 75-90 ms, and the impacts of a single packet loss. Also I feel the outdated servers is the reason for the shortage in housing, they could at least make them cost more.

Good news everyone! Once you get past the first half and it installs, it speeds up dramatically. Have two instances for anecdotal PROOF!

I’m on my 11th relaunch attempt now, so I really hope it finishes this time! Shaving years off my life and giving me grey hairs at far too young an age. ;_;

Stick with it! It took me an hour, but the download went from 800 megs and 3 hours remaining to over and done inside of four minutes after I rebooted the launcher again after a fail.

Took me 3 tries. 3rd time my PC version finished downloading. Did my PS4 first though.

I had that happen 2X to me and also lost a little over a month of sub time. This is such an old issue and i keep bringing up it is the awful game launcher/updater which is very outdated.
First time i got a blank screen after a patch update so had to re-install fresh and got the error. After a month of trying various things and luck i guess oh happened again after i upgraded to a PS4 Pro.
What i had done was Port Forwarded, made a static IP address+ used a VPN

Consistently getting the Unable to Complete Version Check error. Edited FFXIV_BOOT.cfg to force version check, deleted temporary internet files and rebooted with no success.

If anyone is having the dreaded unable to complete version check error. I used to get that problem but fixed it by changing to Google’s DNS. However I just got the issue on Google’s DNS. Changing back to an automatically picked DNS fixed the error for me. Don’t know why just throwing this out there in case it helps anyone.
