    After the fifth patcher error it deleted the 660 MB it downloaded and had to start from scratch. Super.

    So far, the two times it has crashed on me it's simply picked up where it left off.

    Something just occured to me. What if the update server is being DDoSed? I don't mean in use by the people actually trying to USE it. But just by assholes in general?

    Not likely. It's just XIV's crappy server infrastructure unable to handle this much load.
