Why would someone play low level content when they will be too high for it in a few hours anyways(just run through everything). Just keep on making instances at level 50 that's all we want! We don't care about that other crap. Whats fun evolving with your character watching em grow as you grow in skill. Hmmm? Soo, again why bother? /sarcasm

    I'm not expecting anyone to read this(I've learned that already). I just wanted to say that leveling is fast, too fast. Now, I know TONS of people are against this (slowing down leveling) but at the rate you level there really is no point in getting gear until you are 40ish. I am just wondering how you are going to make lower levels count more, because really that's half the fun of it! Getting to 50 that is(at least your first 50 for most). I wanna stay in an instance all day! That is uber fun!
    Let me ask all the people who have most classes 50, do you enjoy it that much? I mean what is there for you to do now? Get weapons? Ya it's cool that you can be like
    "HEY! I can go on any class, what ya need?"
    I guess I just loved the progression FFXI had like no other mmo does. They had content for you to do through out the whole game(1-75). Gear actually mattered, if you bought a piece of gear it was going to last you. Don't let me get started on COP at level 30 >.>.
    IDK what could SE do to make lower levels count more, because that's the only thing I can think of, is slowing down leveling.

    PS: sorry for another thread ; ;

    Side note: I'm not saying make this game into ffxi, I don't want that! I think for this day and age the leveling of FFXI is a wee bit slow, I just liked how things mattered in ffxi. I just wanna try to address this issue. It also hurts crafters when they cant sell their stuff that they made, or there is nothing to buy in the MW, because of that issue.
    Interesting post.

    I was just reading the reasons people were quitting, and 'grinding' came up pretty often, and 'lack of content' was another complaint.

    The funny thing is, grinding (read: constant focused leveling) renders useless mid-level content and the need for mid-level gear. Grinding is the reason there is a lack of content, and what's more, players complain about grinding. So why do it?

    The main reason players grind is because they get impatient and/or competitive in trying to reach endgame content. They forget that only a portion of the game's content is 'endgame'. For them, the goal is to be l33t ASAP.

    Well, being l33t and enjoying a game are often on the opposite ends of the scale from what I've seen.

    How many players took the time while in their 30s put together a Toto-Rak party? How many level 18 parties have spent time working through all the content in Shposhea? The simple fact is that since there is no level cap on early or mid-level content, players look for the shortest and easiest path to the end and then discover that they quickly become bored with the game.

    Perhaps at some point SE will introduce some options for capped runs in dungeons along with some greater rewards (or achievements). But until then, I chose to enjoy the content on it's own terms and not rush to the end.

    There is always plenty more to do later on.
