I know that most of the player base doesn't use steam (or read its forums), but it would help if we could see some moderation there. Every other thread either derails or devolves into a flame war and it doesn't reflect too well on the community.

Not sure the main forum mods have any say with how the steam forums are moderated.

I don't think SE can do anything about Steam's forums, much like they can't really interfere with GameFAQs or whatever the popular 3rd party discussion hub is these days. You'll have to take it up with Steam's moderation team if you want to see something done.
A Flame War is whenever Immortal Flames win pvp.

When I went to the Steam forums to ask about this, I was directed to try and get in touch with the publisher.

Valve doesn't moderate the forums for 3rd party games. It's up to the developer/publisher to have their own mods for their game's forum on Steam. These official forums are our main way to communicate with SE, so it's not wrong to come here for requests.

It happened a few days ago. Adders's entire alliance held the Maelstrom down at their base camp, so Flames snatched up a few big ices almost totally uncontested. It was bitter insanity. I've never seen that happen before.
