Because this patch just jumped from 6-10 crafts for a single item to 20+. Unless they seriously jacked up the rate you get yellows. Just absolutely idiotic game design when combined with the return of specialist only.
Mind sharing rotation?Front:
Back:
Gyr Abanian Alchemic: 250 yellow crafters' scrips
Gyr abanian spring water: The peaks(Ala Ghiri), 10am, slot 1
Azim Cotton boll: The Azim Steppe(The dawn Throne), 12am, alot 5
P.S. Not sure if they spawn on a 12 or 24 hour basis so e.g. maybe the Gyr abanian spring water spawns at 10pm aswell. I'll double check soon.
I thought I saw something about the new crafting gear not being allowed for advanced melding in the patch notes. Since you've got a full set of the stuff I figured I'd ask: can you advance meld it, and if not, does it end up being better than the old lvl 70 stuff when melded?

Yes you can advance meld (there's no indication that you can't), and base HQ chest piece is 417/131I thought I saw something about the new crafting gear not being allowed for advanced melding in the patch notes. Best gear in the game shouldn't be easily gotten.
Honestly I'm just going to craft the gear and not really use it right now. Considering I don't know what the 3-star recipes are going to be, I'm just not going to meld it yet.
I do have one question. I wasn't around for most of heavensworn's crafting. But I thought I remember that Specialist recipes tended to be available for all players after 1 major patch. Meaning, if I am NOT a Carpenter specialist, I cannot make the 325 Fishing MH weapon. However I'm guessing 4.2, that recipe will be available for all? Is this how Heavensworn specialist worked?
Edit:
I understand you can technically switch specialist with Red scripts so theoretically i could make everything but at a cost.

Hina - Yes, that was the basic pattern. The next patch would have a new batch of harder spec only recipes, and the old ones would fall off so anyone could attempt to make.
This is my first expansion in FFXIV and I'm a little bit confused with this release. Can we expect more recipes in 4.1 that will make this new crafting gear relevant? Currently I can HQ anything under the sun with my ilvl290 crafting gear. I had thought there was going to be higher ilvl combat gear to go along with this, but it's all just a handful of stuff that doesn't matter if it's HQ.
Don't expect much new until we know about the release of the next series of Omega (Savage), at which point the 3* is going to coincide with that release, as it has thus far.
In any case it's worthwile making the gear if anything to just sell. People seem to be buying it, and it's fairly challenging to do. Then coming closer probably when Ultima is released that's when I'll be making my personal set with temporary melds. But these aren't too easy to HQ as you may have guessed, there's dozens of NQ gear on the board, and no real rotation from anyone yet because people still be milking profits before they let competition through.![]()
