Housing: there has to be a better way

Report them, unless SE gives us real features to resell land its all you can do right now.

Maybe we could get a "Party Finder" or a housing market board for selling houses, but people would only be able to see houses from their servers. The plot could be listed right then and there for people to buy. It'd probably have to be a fixed rate though to remove the possibility of flipping houses. The price could either be the full price for the plot or the person selling could be required to take a 20-30% hit to make things fair. Just seems like something they could do with a little less effort than a complete overhaul. It'd make things slightly more affordable, anyway. In theory.

Oh so a one person FC is just fine? Tuesday is going to be a fun spot on the forum. Can't wait.

According to SE it is get salty at them, not at the person posting the most basic fix that would relieve a good portion of the stress. You can't fix a-holes, there are always going to be people gaming the system, but personal housing would get a lot of individual home owners out of the wards so whatever you consider a legitimate FC could possibly get those plots. If you've got thoughts and suggestions about it I'd suggest posting them rather than posting hostile one-liners. That's what this thread is for after all.

I'm not arguing that instanced housing shouldn't be added. I simply have a problem with trying to take housing away from people who already own them in wards and somehow give them to FC's. My point if you didn't get it is given your suggested solution even a FC of one would qualify.

I am also a home owner, I worked hard to get it. I'd be willing to give it up so that nobody else had to fight through the crowds or pay to property flippers though.

I wouldn't exactly call it a "massive part of the game." It's rather incredibly optional and unnecessary.

My FC has a small house now but I'm hoping to upgrade to a large if I can get into Shirogane fast enough. Opening housing to individuals instead of just fcs is a huge part of this problem. With the shortage of housing it would make more sense for the houses to be fc only and individuals can get an apartment.

It would be really nice if some sort of ban was imposed on reselling. Perhaps simply by putting a 45 day stop on leaving a house you just bought? Also a 45 - 90 day wait between buying houses would help also. It would at least stop one person from grabbing several houses then reselling them.

All the complaining aside, it's been made pretty clear that they have no intention of going to instanced housing. Which is too bad, as it would solve so many problems. Perhaps the servers can't handle it? I'm not a game dev so I have no idea how much work it would be to switch.

This does nothing but alienate a portion of the player base, therefore solving...nothing. The ban on reselling I could get behind though. Ideally we should have an option for doing so that's not against the ToS, but whatever works.

Who does it alienate? The re-sellers? Sorry but I really woudln't feel bad for them if they were stopped from hogging up the housing.

FC-only housing doesn't solve anything. It's easy enough to have a shell FC for housing.
