A friendlier, more helpful community? Or more of the same?

Does anyone else foresee a friendlier and more "constructive criticism" style of forum community on the horizon? With payments, will it reduce the cynicism the forums have accumulated with players upset they purchased the game, didn't like, and only stayed because it was free?

Or do you see the the same style of "I didn't get what I paid for" mentality?



Personally I feel more invested in helping new players, providing guides and content outside the game, and telling people about FFXIV. Mostly because I feel anyone still playing after payment begins, is at least a "little" invested in the same things I am.

I subconsciously think maybe some of the people only stuck around and complained because they "could", it was free.

How do you feel?

^^ Well the only people here would be people who had a reason to be here.
That doesn't mean that they're happy with everything or that they like everyone, but I would expect the forums to be cleared of the vast majority of trolls.

I read the FFXI boards from time to time and it has its share of people tearing into the game and developer decisions. Most boards have lots of negative feedback towards games and rage quitters. People complain about everything and I doubt it will go anywhere, but if it improves, good for the community.

That, and they simply just wanted attention - even whiners need some lovin' too!~

In all srs bsns ...ness.... I do hope that once non-subscribers aren't allowed to post that these forums will become more constructive regardless of the intent of the topics - whether it be general feedback overall or reaching out the community in any way shape or form. I look forward to [hopefully] at least a 90% reduction of whiners acting like they're being forced to play a game that they don't like playing and don't like the direction it's going.
