    [Reason why you're stopping/quitting FFXIV]
-lack of content (main story, sidequests, guild quests)
    -hardly any voiceacting
-not enough armor, clothing and weapons
-hardly any diversity in leve quests
-map sections for your level are too small, they are fine now but they are supposed to be for hunderds of players at the same time
-hardly any map diversity, thats also because i play on low setting but there are hardly any fundamental changes
-lack of monster diversity and tactics
    -lack of dungeons
    -lack of mini games

    [Parts you enjoyed about FFXIV]
-playing with others, random and linkshell
    -story curscenes
    -mini game

[Parts you were disappointed with FFXIV]
    -its actually just not enough
-dont know if i can say it but the introduction of party sp in december totally ruined the fun parties i had before that, i hate sp parties lol, sorry
-the battle system seems to get slower
-its not really a final fantasy for me, i dont know it looks like one but when i play it its just another game

[What kind of changes do you want to see for you to come back and play?] (optional)
-the roadmap looked good but i hope there is more on the horizon after that
-subjobs make me thing it will be more of a game you know :P
    [Last comment]
I will be back but for how long is still undecided. If what I see in the roadmap is all there is to get then probably 3-6 months instead of years. I somehow think this is as good as it gets, however i have some form of confidence that the team can turn things around. As it stands now my feelings are that final fantasies should not be online and maybe have a multiplayer section or coop. I think that MMO rules plus this resistance against World of Warcraft have destroyed the whole point of the game. Just make a Final Fantasy ... online. It might be the worst idea ever, but i dont care. I do wish you the best of luck though

Battle system lacks fun. Bad quest writing and no cutscenes. Leves exist where a real game should be.

Mission cutscenes were great though but I need a real ending to a story.

-One of the biggest reasons I don't feel like playing is because the "invite the class, not the player" mindset is still happening. I know there isn't such thing as perfect balance, but it's still depressing seeing people get screwed over on participating events when they don't have the "flavor of the month" leveled, or the flat out don't like that class. Is it really worth playing a class you don't like just to do an event?

-Another thing I really don't like is the low server population. I know it's being fixed in 1.21, so not really worth saying much on this.

[Parts you were disappointed with FFXIV]
    -Lackluster areas
    -Poor crafting system
    -Poor market system.

[What kind of changes do you want to see for you to come back and play?] (optional)
-Better method of trying to make all classes/jobs desirable
-Variety of more content. Full PTs, small PTs, solo, etc.

I really hope Yoshida and the reps are taking these threads seriously. Most of us that are quitting want to see this game rise up from the crap start it had, however this game still has a long ways to go.

It's not the game I bought and with each update is becoming less so.
I also find it lacking in the quest department, the presentation is emotionally uninvolving or not even there (reading a copy pasted levequest and doing the same stuff over and over is not interesting).
Game crashes too often, usually during levequests, aborting those levequests.
    No acceptable payment options.

    Gathering.
Being able to solo story as gatherer.

[Parts you were disappointed with FFXIV]
Shift to Fighter only and group-focused, enforced fake social gamestyle.

    Reason why you're stopping/quitting FFXIV
    • The shift toward focusing on group grind leveling is a big factor for me. Leveling is the focus of a single-player RPG, end-game content should be the focus of a MMO. A single-player RPG also focuses on storyline while leveling, and even that is lacking here. Logging on, joining a party, and grind-grind-grinding the night away isn't for me.
    • Not being able to regenerate MP while moving. I am at a loss to fathom why we returned to the "stationary mage" phenomenon of FFXI. There's nothing fun about this.
    • I don't feel like I'm doing any good in the world. The only times I've had to fight monsters to save the world has been in my main storyline quest, where the mobs were laughably easy to kill (one shot). There's a definite lack of epic feeling.
    • Patches and planned changes are horribly mishandled. I really feel Blizzard has this right, so bear with me while I outline how they do it.
      • Planned changes are not announced until they're ready to release on the PTR. No "roadmap" for people to get attached to and, ultimately, disappointed by.
      • The changes are tested on the PTR. They are adjusted or even removed based on PTR results. The live servers are not where they experiment with their more idiotic ideas. *cough* dyed stats *cough*
      • Patch dates are not announced beforehand. When you launch WoW on Tuesday, either it starts patching or it doesn't. Again, no projected dates for people to get attached to and, ultimately, disappointed by.

    Parts you enjoyed about FFXIV
I haven't really enjoyed FFXIV in a very long time, which is why I have barely logged on, and haven't progressed my character at all in about three months. I can't say that I enjoyed doing leves or crafting, and when I have done these things, I haven't felt any sense of accomplishment. "Oh, well, that's 8 more bees and a chigoe that won't be pollenating anymore flowers."

Parts you were disappointed with FFXIV
Crafting really tops my list here. If there is one thing I can't live without in an RPG, it's crafting. The crafting in FFXIV is very painful to me.
    • I feel like a zombie spamming Normal Synthesis. Even when I try to play the light game, and make different choices to shoot for the highest quality number I can get, it numbs my brain.
    • The quality doesn't mean anything. I have had NQ results with 450-quality syntheses. I don't know if this mechanic has changed in a recent patch or not, but it needs to.

Basically, I feel as if they tried too hard to include crafters, and they managed to alienate at least this one in the process. Crafting should be a supplement; it shouldn't be treated as a class. I can't play an MMO without crafting, and I simply cannot craft in this one.

I hate to say it, but at this point I feel as if I have been chasing the proverbial carrot on a stick for entirely too long. Too many things have been promised and not delivered (solo-friendliness), or not delivered even vaguely on time (every patch), or delivered in such a way that it was just a different kind of completely jacked (gear dye). I will probably be back for the 2.0 trial, but my hopes that it will go well aren't high.

I'm not playing because I don't think content exist in the game that can justify a subscription price. The game is still heavily focused on leves, which I greatly dislike; and not enough on story content.

The combat system is too simplistic, and doesn't bring anything new to the table, and what it does bring just isn't done well enough yet.

The game client itself is horribly optimized, and frankly scares me when I do play FFXIV. The network client is atrocious.

The repetitive nature of the world is both boring, and disturbing because it isn't explained at all - I mean the game's current cinematic launched with a nameless dragon, and none of the NPC's seem to care about it, yet you guys have a language developed for the Roegdahn to explain the terrible names like "Grizzly Gnat".

I also think a better system dealing with items you pick up needs to be developed. Inventory management is a giant problem.

In the future I hope you remember all the people who wanted to play FFXIV, but felt it wasn't a good enough game to play. I hope you remember to be innovative and don't try to copy other games to a T [specifically FFXI and WoW]. Remember this forum is filled with a minority opinion of what people want, and that that majority has quit the game.

Personally I would love to see a game that isn't focused on "end game" content. I think there is room for a MMO which focuses heavily on story development and immersion - building up to an important battle is very important so that it feels the battle matters. FFXIV will never have as much content as games like World of Warcraft, but it has the ability to be the best in story if the effort is put in place. Please also try to make sure that every day existence matters, not merely existing so that you can be doing raiding content from 7-10 pm.

I would also recommend "beefing up" the main cities. It seems so far fetched for the city states to be able to compete at all with Garlean at this point, and it makes for this really awkward disconnect where bows and arrows are going to take out magitek airships.

I also don't think September is going to be a realistic date - the patches that get launched get pushed back more and more. I think FFXIV will be successful, just not in September.

These things only scratch the surface of what's wrong with the current game, and I still think that these subscription fees are a giant mistake on behalf of Square, because people will move on from this, and Square could use the free marketing as the game improves.

If so, why should SE be overly concerned with these players' opinions especially since they've captured the opinions/feedback from a majority of the masses who left the game (which I'm guessing was a helluva lot more than what we're going to see in the next few days) weeks after it's launch in the Jan2011 poll?

I mean, if this was Sep/Oct 2010 then yeah, I would for sure see 100% the purpose of a thread like this. But now, after all the changes have taken place based on player feedback from the people who bounced shortly after launch, the feedback here might just consist of angry players who really liked the game how it was during launch and simply have had separation anxiety up until now... (and the post below this pretty much is a perfect example -_-...)
Great point about the "are these people who have played since launch?"

Cause some of the reasons I'm displeased is from some of the changes made. But I'm sure that POV goes both ways so... I'll reply tomorrow when I have more time.

Little things like Primal weapon drops, taking out abilities to give them back later, charging for 2.0 beta. Non-existent customer support.

like many, not enough content. i expected alot from this game and i got something worse then all the mmo's i would of not even looked twice at. i'll be back at .21 maybe for sure 2.0 but it needs alot to keep me there then. if they playing safe with there money and not going all out at start of 2.0 and think i will wait a year for endgame again on top of that they got something coming. ...and going.

    [Parts you enjoyed about FFXIV]
i liked the prereq before moggle fight alot, felt like final fantasy, ffxi. i liked full 15man grinds before they took them out. i enjoyed the big nm's prior to them droping party numbers to 8 and making them easy. enjoy the strongholds but grinds...but neeed get ride of the powerleveling.

[Parts you were disappointed with FFXIV]
POWERLEVELING, the lack of content, not enough party play, no full linkshell events yet(this is a must for 2.0), missions aren't like ffxi(full party group battles, screw solo crap sorry, leave that to quests) no caps on things, going a way to casual route. nothing they have added has been very fun, from leves to caravan escorts, all of it not something i'd do more then few times if was in ffxi or this game.

[What kind of changes do you want to see for you to come back and play?] (optional)
more of the soul from ffxi, fun but not paying for my gear and time by making it so easy. most important things are this and party play. this game has to have full linkshell events, 8man stuff is for 8man statics not linkshells. adding pvp doesn't give u the option to make small man dungeons the endgame pve. this is a pve game. large scale stuff is a must.

also missions like in ffxi, this is also a must. full 8man regular exp grinds, no powerleveling(yes i'm repeating what i wrote up top sorry it's all that matters really) not coming back to solo a string line of 10 or 30missions with solo bosses that have no caps and anyone can just do them if they level out high enough a class.

just straight out so much content you feel like there is too much and it will take forevers to do it all. i mean swtor u can't even do it all ..u end up leveling up faster then u can do the quests. or u will level up past a full zone/planet. champs/world bosses, heroics, hardmode heroics, flashpoints, pvp, daily, weekly's, so many quests and all voice active.

public quests, and missions would be nice too. real ones worth doing. no worth = empty thing your wasting resources adding.

    [Last comment]

and lastly, SE you and all other companies making mmo's need to screw off with starting your launches not ready. notice the trend that this is what your all doing now. stop. create a mmo with what you call an expansion with it to start, it's the amount of content people expect from the start. least i do. but really stop with the early launches, its despicable to think the blind have to line your pockets to continue making your mmo. tyvm

and see you guys at .21 or .22 ...erm or 2.0 but for sure i'll see you's lol.
