    Are DPS the peasants of FFXIV...? Do we need a DPS welfare?

    I've noticed something quite COMMON with dps... First they are very COMMON... like MOST players i know are dps... most NEW players pick dps... my raid parties are FILLED with DPS players first...

    second... Theyre VERY poor for some reason...! I don't know why but they seemed to REALLY struggle in the gil department... Every pf group i go with the DPS have trouble affording good raid food...?

    Do dps players need a DAILY gil and food ALLOWANCE to help em out...?

    Making gil has nothing to do with being a DPS.
    So no they don't need it.

    There's plenty of way to make gil in this game, even without crafting or gathering.

    Correct. I have noticed a trend in-game (so only my perception here), however, that tank and healer mains are more likely to delve into other endeavors like crafting, gathering, etc.

    If I am wanting for raid food, either our raid crafter is too busy to make more or there is none available. For the most part I am very frugal with my gil so I tend to cheap out if I can't get any of the super good stuff.

    Your mistake is running PF and expecting people to waste good food on it. I'm not going to waste 20k food when I know darn well 90% of PFs will fail within 5 minutes.

    This ^ , if it was a static sure ill waste food,gil and whatever . PF? lol no.
    but to answer your question, no a DPS does no equal poor gil becouse even healer/tank main broke as well, only a person who go out his/her way to save gil/treasure maps/sale and craft will have some actual gil lol

    There is little point in using food from a damage stand point if you are a) clearing the dps checks including enrage, b) missing the dps checks by 6% or more, as the benefit of food is a considerably small amount. You are probably going to know neither at the onset of a PF run.

    The only time I will use good food/pots in a PF group is if it is a parse group as they typically have good runs in my experience
