Materia Graphic request

Hi there,

It is in my sincearest hopes that one day Mr Yoshi may see this post as i would really like his thoughts and possable aproval of this some what minor request.
I am an a devouted and loyal Final FantasyXIV fan, ive been here from the start and will be here with you to the end. Ive seen everything you plan on implementing with patch 2.0 and i have to say...Thank You from the bottom of my heart. Everything you plan on doing has made me estatic and very hopeful for the future of the game i love.

I have a small request,though you all ( The Final Fantasy XIV Team) have already done so much already.Its more of a possable sugestion. With the up comming advanced job equipment and its beautiful design would it be possable to maybe add a Materia graphic where one could see their said attached materia? just think, that materia youve tried for and it has continuously evaded you grasp until now.. you get it attached and you get the amazing increase to your stats... wouldnt it be nice to be able to show that off a bit? To take pride in ones aparence is one of the aspects and continous thills a mmo player experiences in their online gaming life.
It may seem like it is alot to ask for and that we as players are never satisfyed lol,this is not the case with myself. I personaly see it as a sugestion i hope you may take into consideration ^^. I know its small ,maybe even a petty request after all the work youve done thus far but... some of the smaller things add up in the end no?

I hope you get to see this Mr Yoshi and once again Thank you and all of the Final Fantasy XIV team for taking our hopes and dreams and turning them into a reality

I apologize for resurrecting such an old thread, but this information from the dev. team fits perfectly here!

In regards to your suggestion about changing the graphics for equipment that have materia attached to them, it would be necessary to prepare new graphic data, so we won’t be able to do this right away; however, we would like to look into whether we can add something visually appealing (such as effects and what not) for 2.0.

Getting to actually see the materia attached to your equipment sounds neato.

Lookin' good! Then goin' a lil' off topic, after you guys are able to do that it'd be possible to give new graphics to the weapons and armors when those are damaged or heavily damaged. Can't stop the progress!

I like the idea of that. It could be challenging (for instance have little gem-like things show up on your armor or giving it an aura or whatever you can think of) in terms of performance but if it can be done it would be a really nice touch and for me, the more of your gear that actually shows on your character (FFXIV already does a better job of this than almost any MMO, with thingsl ike rings, neck peices and such all being able to be shown on the character) the better.

To me the details that were in this game graphically were awesome. Adding more later down the road when the real work is done would add something extraordinary to XIV.

Rukkirii? Thanks for getting back to this post or even remembering it was requested. That to me shows that while others are still complaining, the team, Mods like yourself included, are still trying your best to give us what SE usually does, an epic online adventure.

This, maybe weapons have visible sockets and we can see Materia graphically attached to them, instead of the usual eye-blinding rainbow colour glow.

We don't need glowing/sparkling/fiery weapons a la WOW, Rift, LOTRO etc. etc. etc. at all.
