The State of Housing is Attrocious

The housing in this game and how it works, is just attrocious. Last nights patch, has done a lot to highlight the major issues, which are, but not limited to:

• Community size
• Demand
• Time limit to even attempt to get one
• greed

With my server, Balmung, it's massive. And there's just not enough houses to supply the FC's and individual players. My own FC, was looking forward to trying to upgrade from a small in Lavender beds, to a medium in lavender beds. But no mediums opened for relocating to. And the window to do such, is insanely thin. If you aren't patch and in game at 3am exactly, forget about even getting a house. People should not be forced to stay up to 3am, in vain hopes of a house.

And to make things worse, is how private houses share the same wards as FC houses. Things wouldn't be so bad, if there were separate housing wards for private player homes, and separate wards for FC's. We've got some pretty greedy FC's on Balmung that work a black market on reddit, to buy up housing plots, just to sell them, hence circumventing the deal making in game since selling houses, is against the rules.

Wanna know how to rid us of the black market and stress? Lord of the Rings Online when I used to play it, had a system in place that if only 2 or 3 houses remain in a given ward, the system would automatically generate 3 new empty wards for people to buy houses in. That would kill the illegal black market easy. Separate FC's and Personal houses into their own wards. That would help alleviate problems too. Something has to give. As I said, 3am with no time after that, to get a house, it's ridiculous, and a major problem.

To the OP it isn't Attrocious, it is what SE makes and a significant portion of this player base supports. They will all be excited next time the dev team is in a seasonal event or they try selling them a plushie. To large a portion of this community thinks that this game is great and any problems are corporate and have nothing to do with design.

Leviathan had every plot in Shirogane or otherwise taken within 4-5 minutes after the servers came up. I find it hysterical that there's actually a feature in the game that lowers the price of the plot if no one buys it after a certain amount of time. Has that ever been used on any plot on any server ever?

Sorry but any system that makes you stay up to 3am at night, with a window of under 1 minute to get a in high demand feature, is attrocious. Other MMO's that have housing, even the ones that have turned to garbage in recent years like lotro, still had better systems in place, than what we have right now. This is a design problem, not a corporate one. Corporate has it's own issues yes, but the design of the system as it is right now, is a major problem that needs to be addressed.

They shoulda done what Archeage does and had it available right at the start of the 4.0 patch.

Then people could rush through story, skip all the cutscenes, plow through the dungeon and have a real battle royale for plots.
