But I do wish they would have the same budget as Blizzard.

Immersion went completely out the window when Yo-kai came to Eorzea. I think all bets are off at this point.

Imagine the voiced cutscenes of miqo'te voice 5.
Yeah no, let's stay with no voice.
A character that talks, but is not mute could be a thing. I did a survey among my diehard gamer friends, among those 12 I am the only person playing FF14. The reason they play World of Warcraft or Guild wars 2 are because of the following reasons:
1: You are mute, you cant even talk.
2: They cant see themself get attached to the WOL, but to other characters they can cuz they know how the npc react during certain scenes. (voice)
3: Raiding difficulty is not high enough, Coil is fine.
4: The grunt noices are irritating.
5: No jumping puzzles
Remember this is just a short list, I didnt ask many things about FF14.
The pros are however:
Gear awesome
Graphics awesome
Diversity in characters
Good community (it isnt hard finding a community better then of WoW)
Sound tracks awesome
2 play WoW, 1 FF (me), rest guild wars 2 (10). And they really cant connect to the WOL, Ive seen guild wars 2 and can agree that there its easier to connect with your own character than here. But I still chose FF14 cuz of all the other things. Its just my experience, dont know if people will actually find it THAT bad if 2-3 lines are being said by the WOL in an entire expansion.
Ive really thought about it, and talked to people to see if it could be better or worse.

IMO that would help the immersion. GW2 gives a voice to your char even outside c/s and it feels real immersive

No talking voice for the protagonist during 1.0, not even talking text. The companion talked for the protagonist and the player had the choice between different companions with different personality (as an example a male Lalafell who fear his own shadow and a female Miqo'te who love everyone). But even the companions had no voice.
