    Dungeon gear is nearly useless

    The loot system in dungeons should be improved. Nearly every drop hits the floor these days. They are useful for those upgrading optional jobs, but for those that run a single job having the drops are meaningless. They are out geared as soon as, or if not, shortly after running dungeons a couple times.

    It would be more viable to have random stat gear drops from dungeons, in my opinion rather than the stagnant stat gear that we get.

    Its really the only thing people liked from exploratory missions, why not bring that aspect to dungeon gear as it might actually prove more useful than seeing the message "item was unobtainable".

    If anyone has a good answer to why the system is currently like this, and why it shouldn't be improved, please let me know.

    the gear is good for seals to turn in.

    other than that even with random stat gear, there comes a point you dont need dungeon gear anymore so it doesnt even matter. There's better stuff out there, i.e. raid gear/tome gear.

    Pink dungeon gears(random stat) were a thing on pre lv50, I'm not sure the reason they don't continue the trend btw.

    As for the gears, If I can't desyn them, I was turning in them into company seal but recently I just sell them to npc for some gils (worth more than seal for my world's eco) so I'm not sure why ppl let it drop to the floor.

    There will always be better stuff out there. Come 4.2 the current raid gear will be almost worthless. The dungeon gear now is trash anyways. At least it would be nice to experience finding random stat gear to play around with for a short time that is not game breaking for raids. I'd like to optimize my gear for other jobs. I need it.


    As for seals, kinda worthless outside from a few things.

    Yes but I think for dungeons its simply easier for everyone to get the same thing. While I do agree with having gear with random stats like diadem has, I can't see them ever changing dungeons for the simple fact they want everyone to be "equal" in a way. Esp for the casual crowd which they will always cater too.

    For seals I use it heavily in crafting/ventures so I always can use more.

    It's funny how people say it's useless yet see people under geared -.-;; and people still complain when higher levels lot it for seals...what a strange thing -.-/

    Don't forget about glamour but if the new 70 dungeons are not going to drop weapons or if no dungeon drops a weapon then why is the dungeon even exist? I thought the point of the dungeon was to get better gear for when you get something even better but you still have glamour options... Just let endgame dungeons drop weapons already... Is it really that hard?

    You can have them randomized if you'd like stat wise, but they will get out dated just as quickly. While the gear in dungeons does seem to get stale quickly, randomizing it will not really help much at all. They will still get turned in for seals.

    This is just an issue with the way the game is designed with iLV's being so dominate in everything. It lets you start to collect new gear quickly but at the same time it leaves other gear sets behind in the dust rather quickly.

    The resolution would be a combination of a new gear system mixed with a giant QoL adjustment.

    I think the point you (the op) needs to get is dungeon gear is stepping stool..not a permanent set as per-se minus glamour.

    I would like to see more pink (aether) gear however.

    But i think its working as intended.

    I would like to see RNG stop giving you duplicates and rotate the loot table in favor of items you don't have...like the ruby staff i fought for and never got after 20 tries - only to find out i could have gotten something better at next dungeon >.<;;;

    (yes the irony isn't lost on me)

    The game was designed from the ground up to be a grind. Unlike some other MMOs, high-end gear acquisition has more to do with the amount of time you have to play than with player skill. The lack of skill trees and character builds make all content completely gear-based, which is unfortunate.
