Only took 5 seasons to get it together and consider doing what games with more successful PvP have been doing. . .
Team registration and decay are entirely separate things - Mentioning the two together in that way implies that the decay would only affect registrated teams. Did something get lost in translation or is that just the usual insanity?
My favorite bit is the one about Feast being the focus of PvP, tho' - Most people on this forum probably know what it's like to be focused. Unintended irony is the best kind of irony.

I think the part about feast being the focus was mainly player fears (in JPN servers I think) that the dev team would focus on Rival wings and balance based on that instead of feast.
We see it right now with Feast and Frontline. Ranged DPS are much better than melee DPS in Frontline however they got an HP boost based on feast adjustments which made them much more stronger in frontline as a result.
This interview is hilarious. Every time a dev opens their mouth on pvp makes me think they don't play it at all. "The alt character problem is difficult so we hope it will just go away." "Implementing a rule where your ratings decline after not playing for a certain amount of time." This rule has worked out wonderfully with housing, am I right? Nothing about the win trading either.
The way the information was translated concerning the matchmaking process was vague, but if it means what I mean it thinks, then I think they're headed in a good direction.
The decay for not playing for a set time seems like a nice addition because it would get people to actually play to keep their rank instead of just getting really high up and not appearing for the rest of the season, making queues more active.
I'm confused about the team registration part though. I'm also a bit disappointed about their response about Alts just decreasing over time, which, as we all know, isn't the case. I wish they would have handled it differently rather than just say "Just wait it out."
I'm missing something. What alt problem? Don't they know only 1 character can log at any one time?
Wintrading can be done (and usually is) between 2 players. Cheaters don't need to make another account
when both can rank up.
Decay okay for queues. They are right the numbers will go down but out of numbness, not because its alts.
Who will go numb first? Real players with full time fight or the wintraders who doesn't need to go all out.
I think they are referring to the amount of alts occupying the top 100 slots. I don't think they acknowledge win trading as a "thing".
At least now we have 4v4 training mode
A decay system is sorely needed and should affect everybody who participates in ranked PvP. It'd help ease the win trading epidemic somewhat and it'd also discourage people from rushing to get as high a rank as possible in the first week of a new season and then just not bothering to fight again. Queues are very fast early on in a season at almost every hour of the day but then the longer a season goes on the queue times become utterly ridiculous.
