    Suggestion: Bringing Back Old Content

    So if you're like me, you loved doing Extreme content. Things like Shiva, Leviathan, etc. The challenge was one of the best parts of the game. However, now that the level cap has been raised, the vast majority of players always unsync the old content. And that makes the fight extremely easy and boring. This puts newer players in a position where they have a hard time finding a group that will give them the same experience that older players had when these fights were first released.

    To attempt to fix this, I'm suggesting a change in the rewards for people who clear old content the way it was meant to be played. And since mounts seem to be the main reason why older players even bother repeating the fights, why don't we increase the drop rate of these mounts if people do it synced?

    And to make things even more interesting, what if we made it so that clearing a fight at minimum ilvl would guarantee a mount drop? I'm talking about any fight before the expansion released. So this would include things like Zurvan, Thordan, and the others. This would motivate people to actually play the game properly instead of just mindlessly beating a boss over and over again with minimal to no effort. In other words, I think it would help make the old content more interesting again.

    Players who aren't interested would still have the choice of trying their luck with unsynced, so in the end everybody wins!

    To sum it up:
    Increase mount drop rates for synced content by a significant amount.
    Increase mount drop rate for minimum ilvl content by 100%.
    Keep mount drop rates the same for unsynced content.

    I know that for some, this will just be seen as an excuse to make it easier to get mounts. But even if that IS true, it's still not going to change the fact that it will get people to play older content the way it was meant to be played.

    If you make it 100%, people will do it once (or a few times all in one session for friends) then it will go back to being abandoned or facerolled for Khloe points.

    The scaling doesn't really work very well in general. My group has been working on 5-man undersized/minimum ilevel clears of old content and it's great fun for its own sake, but with some content you'll never genuinely be as underpowered this way as a group would have been doing the content before due to the sync or later job balancing (e.g. the existence of AST, ahem). The only real solution for wanting hard stuff is to get some friends together or make some Party Finders to pull together like-minded people, which a lot of people do on the JP servers.

    I believe that min. ilvl already boosts drop chances, but it's just not enough when you could clear the same content faster doing it unsynced and spam it.

    There's also an issue where undersized is linked to unsynced which leaves some content in an awkward spot where you want to increase the difficulty and lowman it, but it's trivialised if you don't go in with minimum ilvl set. Except the content isn't clearable with too few people on minimum ilvl (e.g. where a LB3 is supposed to be used yet you can't access that as you don't have a full party, but the alternative options aren't quite tough enough if you're at minimum power). I wish they'd just unlink the options and let us scale the difficulty properly ourselves. For fun, not for prizes. It's a pain keeping old gearsets around to try to fake proper difficulty scaling for old encounters.

    Maybe they could add some 'hardcore' achievements for old content to tie in with the new achievement point shop?

    They did this for the answers orchestrion roll I believe, and I don't know why it wasn't expanded upon further. In general, I detest the unsynced feature and think that there is so much that needs doing in order for it to be justified. All it has done is make content faceroll and rewards meaningless in its current iteration.

    Yeah I don't like unsynced. It lets people farm mounts from the last expansion but really....couldn't their solution for mounts be something else? They could've just added the totems to the normal/hard mode version of primals (maybe even increase it to 150-200 totems).

    Same for dungeons, running them unsynced gives 0 meaning to it.
