could be possible we could have side slot of a harp. since this a secondary weapon of bard
to balance it out machinist could have tool bag

Ehh... I did hear it from somewhere that it is quite hard to manage with the loot and all... Even the mages who used to have a shield and 1-handed staff now use only 2-handed staff (for example: white mage and black mage). Only PLD has a secondary weapon (shield) now [For disciple of war/magic only]. Besides (correct me if I'm wrong), I don't really see a benefit of getting a secondary weapon...
IMO there are only reason to include an offhand to a job:As you see a harp or other musical instrument only does make sense for BRD but not for ARC and you also have to remember the stat splitting.
- different kind of gathering methode (gatherers only)
- different kind of processing a craft (Crafter only)
- significance to the performance of the class/job ingame and lorewise
So you have some problems:First example: using a musical instrument as offhand for BRD.
- fitting from an aesthetical PoV for both, class and job (optimal)
- fitting from a gameplay PoV for both, class and job (optimal)
- balancing the stat tradeoff for the offhand
- think about the glamour options or restrictions
The musical instrument wouldn't fit to ARC as offhand from an aesthetical and a gameplay PoV, so the musical instrument would have to be BRD only.
This would either weaken ARCs by the lose of stats from the offhand or would made ARC/BRD weapons before the first musical instrument incompatible with the offhand. As a third way of solution would be that they could introduce the musical instrument as offhand with the next expansion and just leave all below the next leveling like it was, which would maybe make the new and old weapons incompatible for glamour.
Second example: using a quiver as offhand for ARC and BRD
The quiver would fit to ARC and BRD from an aesthetical and a gameplay PoV.
With this they can rework all weapons till the very first to be compatible with the new offhand and introduce it early like the shields. This would fix the weakened state of ARC and the glamour problems from the first example, also the headache at what point they could be introduced and all following problems.
For me, i don't really care for offhands but if they should be reintroduced they should be fitting from an aesthetical and a gameplay PoV with the whole class and job they are made for and not just the later.
it be stat basic
it would bard only
as would the machinist only toolbox but it always would fit machinist only
as would I hope bolt quiver for ranger
