    What do the medals mean?

    I've always wondered this ever since I joined the forums. Sometimes I'll have two gold medals and some silver. Sometimes I'll have one. Others have three golds and no silver.

    Is it tied to your number of posts? Number of people who liked your post? Something else?

    From what I understand the medals are affected by your post count, the amount of likes you give to other members' posts and the amount of likes your posts receive from other members in kind. But otherwise they have no actual meaning other than simply a way of being seen to be more 'active' in the community, as they do not affect posting restrictions or anything or do not give you extra forum privileges. It's just a little fun thing to have.
