DRG and NIN dps is basically the same. Now, if you think that DRG's litany, sight and disembowel are stronger than TA your question would make sense. But since they're not, I don't see why DRG having 0.0001% higher dps than NIN would be a problem.
As for RDM...well, if DRG had verraise, vercure and could freely do damage in a ranged position that comparison would make sense, I guess...?
The problem with SMN after 4.1 is that its st damage seems to be extremely close to SAM's, the selfish dps job, while also having very strong aoe damage (tri-bind buff probably made as strong as blm's if not stronger) and devotion...and it also became the most mobile caster in the game. SMN is the new MCH lol

Radiant shield IS Summoner's own damage. Why should it not calculate as such...?
That's most of the entire thesis of this thread. Utility IS damage, so saying "raw damage" on a class like BLM is its utility is just plain wrong.
They always do that. A class has issues, is too weak compared to the others, then they buff it to op level. SE has no clue about class balance.
to be fair its still better than being stuck with DRG/NIN/BRD/MCH since 3.4
We should probably stop crying to nerf to SMN, yes they are ridiculously powerfull now, but its not even guaranteed they will be chosen over the current NIN/DRG/MCH/BRD meta, that is just how OP and persistent this team is.
They mostly represent the level of power required for a caster to be competitive with the incredible utility brough by ranged and boosted by DRG.

And to be fair this game has a much better balance than others in general
Or maybe I just experienced much worse in general
@Llugen: Even if they did, they'll probably recruit mostly japanese players, which will lead the community to whine about them listening only to japanese players.
Regardless to give proper feedback ppl would need to understand what is the vision behind some changes, something that not many do, only then you can express some criticism, also players need to have the integrity to actually identify some possible exploits or uintended way for the class to be played and report it. Not so sure that many are capable of that

I'm not crying for a Smn nerf, we all know they needed the changes.
I'd just like the dev team to do some actual testing before they release any adjustments to any classes. And do some research about class balance, it's been fucked up forever.
Also, I get you made the new jobs stronger to make people play them, but pls stop doing stuff like that. It's a slap in the face for people who decide to stick with their class and it screws the power balance up even more.

A test server that they could invite "top players" to test new jobs and give feedback before changes are set in stone would be really nice. They did that event where they invited all the YouTubers to try out the 4.0 jobs at that one expo, if they just had a test server for a cross section of the playerbase it would alleviate a HUGE amount of headache.
Developers might be able to run tests and do math, but only players who play the game consistently at a high level can really describe the "feel" of a class, and perhaps more importantly, how the synergy develops into the meta. I don't see why SE is so opposed to opening up in this vein.

pls... this is absolutly the worst argument ever you can say facing a smn - it's always us who get fucked up with every expansion in the first place - looking over to you whos cls is always supirior because of reasons, same reasons will solve your "issues" near by. Blm never had a real bad time/spot - just relax Yoshi is comin'.
