I don't think the ARR relic was exactly sentient.
Though the Heavensward Animus weapon certainly was. However we get around discarding the weapon body by having the soul exist in the minion.

I name thee Unforgiven .... From ARR relic if you think about it in a way it transcended to a better wep. Now that it has become a living weapon in the anima series I can't wait for it to see how it evolves now that it has a conscious. DANG YOU SE!!! Please make relics available faster ; ;
I would probably use the same name as my chocobo Race Name "Whisper Lily".

I'd name mine "Sanity's End"...because there's always THAT one phase of the grind.
...But I do like this idea. Naming our own relics would actually be really neat. Doubt it'll happen though, because they know how people are. Too well.

If I got to name my relic, I'd name it "Sir Not-Appearing-In-This-Plot". Wait... dang, too many characters!

While this would be nice, am I the only one who finds relics/Anima/whatever kind of fleeting? You spend ages upgrading the weapon, only for it to be superseded by the next big update and its higher tier replacement. It's pretty much always been for glamour purposes only, and that means the name would be lost anyway.
I think we need a relic which is more customizable before we worry about giving it a cool name. One that will stand the test of time rather than become obsolete within a few months.
