I want to share my hatred for Alphinaud Leveilleur

She was there for "plot". That was it. Alphinaud at least...you know, did things instead of sitting at a desk at all day. I wish she would have been written out of the picture by 2.3.

For some of us, Minfilia is a 1.0 bond. She is a unique character in FF14 for a number of reasons. One, she is the only other character to have the 'Echo' the thing that makes us the Warrior of Light. Second, she is the only character in FF14 to have aged.

The first time we see Minfilia she is a child and an argument could be made that she aged for more than the "5 years since the calamity" would have allowed.

Her real name is Ascilia - according to the lorebook, her father was a Gerlean spy who actually supported the Ala Mhigan Resistance.

This might be a bit offtopic since this thread was apparently about bashing Alphinaud and I do understand that for 1.0-players there might be a certain nostalgia to her character, but non of that is making her an actual good character. Specially with the "deveploment" she got during HW - if there was ever any mystery about her, thats gone, making her nothing but this perfect blonde-hair-blue-eyes-eye-candy-girl.
Maybe her 1.0 character hat some potential, I dont know, I've never played 1.0 - but the character I got to meet in ARR has definitly not lived up to any of that potential. Except for eye-candy shes not actually relevant to the plot - writing her out of it didnt leave a massive hole or anything. We've got a lot of really good female characters in this game - female characters who are actually relevant to the story, who are doing things, who are fighting. And we had Minfilia who was just sitting there in her office, doing... nothing...
If her character ever had potential, it got wasted - so now we have to judge what they actually did with her and thats... well, nothing, basically.

Well, when you first see child Minfillia (or Ascilla), you're experiencing the world through an Echo (of sorts). So in 1.0, everything is ten years in the past and then at some point after 'Futures Perfect,' you're back in the present (Before Meteor). Skip five years later and you have ARR.

I guess when it's put like that I can see peoples' side of things. My only introduction to her was in 2.0, so I never really had that "bond".

There are SIXTY... THOUSAND... of them in Rowena's warehouses.

Kinda gives me an idea for a theraputic trial in which they get
possessed by voidsent and you have to slaughter as many of them

She first appears in the uldah intro. I posted the link to it, shes at 1:30ish mark and is the kid who is almost trampled by the Goobbue

Her father is the one who saved her and ended up being killed himself so much of her story was her not accepting her father's death and trying to bring him back to life through necromancy. And her story just gets more tragic, she is involved in a yet unsolved murder (linked below) and the story is just really interesting and that's why we like her. Here is a lil snippet of her story and also an example of how much better the 1.x cut scenes were lol you will esp see it around the 5:45 mark but seriously watch the whole thing...

I can't stand that NPC. Itd worst that he act as some kind of leader for for the crystal bearer (me). He is the worst NPC character in a leading position that I have ever seen in my whole gamer life.

Everytime he talk I just wish that I could murder him.

Nope, I despise him too. I hope he gets killed off in an excruciating way.
