    stormblood desynthesis

i've been wanting to get my desynthesis skill caught up to the current stormblood so i can start making some gil off it, i've been following the desynthesis guide but it only goes up to 180 which is where iam currently at.

i got weaving/goldsmith to 180 and i also have fishing though i should probably dump that for something else anyways after getting weave/gold to 180 i hit a wall the desythesis guide stops at 180 so was hoping someone knows of a good way to get some gear to desynth so i can start doing stormblood without having to farm dungeons because that just takes way too long and theres no guarantee your going to get any gear to desynth each run

Skypirates gear - you can either buy it from diadem-tokens (okay, sucks now, I can see that) or craft it. Some mats are annoying, but hey...

    PvP-gear - theres 180 and 205 gear from HW.

Dungeon-drops are an option aswell, obviously... if you can be bothered to farm dungeons for them, that is...

You can bridge the desynth gap also with gear in Idyllshire. Poetics gear has 2 tiers. the lowest is a high fail rate until you get to 200 + skill. once you cap 220 you can switch to shire gear and then move on to the first tier crafted stormblood gear. It is a pain, but it will get you where you need to go. The dungeon gear first level you will need at least 235 desynth skill but then you dont care about fails because you are farming free items from then on. I hope this helps.

Don't forget about Bacon Broth as well as a Tinker's Calm, if you have HQ of both it adds +6 to desynth, as well as adding materia to anything you can gives a good bonus per materia added.

Centurio seals in Foundation trade for i170 and i200 items a nice stepping stone to Poetics.

Edit: Also the bits and pieces from PoTD loot bags have a high ish desynth level too and are usually quite cheap with a potential for profit in Fieldcraft and Battlecraft III's

While I dont have cul-desynth (aka: fish) myself, I'd recommend keeping it - fish to desynth are easier to come by than gear and at least some fish can desynth into some nice stuff (special glamours, a pet, materia...)

I got my CUL desynth up into SB territory and started to notice that I receive water clusters by the boatload now. Even the cheapest fish that clutter the MB give 1 or 2 guaranteed. And I get alot of pigments in various colors. Wich can be used to craft certain dyes that can be sold for profit like snow white, soot black and dalamud red.

Still not as profitable as other crafts but its starting to pay off.

For weaver at least, Replica Allagan gear from MB/PotD easily took me from 180 to about 200ish. I could also sell quite a few of the materials to get back some gil. They were only around 5k-20k a piece here though, Excalibur prices might be worse.

As someone who managed to get to level 310+ LTW desynth, and am now working on doing the same for WVR/GSM...

Note that farming dungeon drops is always an option, and is the cheapest of all. Problem is the queue times and fighting everyone else for drops, however.

    From 180-210:
    - If you have gatherers/crafters leveled high enough to unlock red scrip gear from Idyllshire's vendors, you can desynth those to get you from 180-200 fairly easily. You'll get a lot of glass fibers and fieldcraft demimateria III along the way too. You'll probably be swimming in the scrips if you kept up with Zhloe's custom deliveries every week, and have your Squadron's chemistry (assuming you're keeping up with that too) giving you even more.
    - You can spend Centurio Seals at the Forgotten Knight in Ishgard to get item level 200 gear to desynth. With the upcoming patch, Allied Seals are going to get merged into Centurio as well...
    - You can also spend Wolf Marks in PvP to get gear to desynth as well.

    From 210-240+:
    - Spend Poetics to get item level 230 gear to desynth.
    - Once you hit 230+, you can probably gamble a bit and start desynthing item level 255 vendor gear, and going for higher gear as your desynth skill goes up. This will cost you quite a lot of gil, though.
    - Once you hit 240+, you can probably gamble a bit and start spending poetics to get item level 260 gear to desynth.

All of the above is assuming you're using HQ Bacon Broth and Tinker's Calm.

Actually, now that I think about it... I wonder if Alexander gear can be desynth'd. I assume they can, and if so, that might be the fastest and cheapest method of leveling desynthesis if you can get a group of friends together to unsync mass farm with you. Especially A5-12 in particular.
