The new PVP system is well and fine, and way more enjoyable than it use to be.
They simply took all the huge cluster of skills and truncated it to be more manageable. The playing field has been leveled out, and the bar of entry has opened up greatly, but make no mistake that there is still skill and strategy involved. The way you play, position yourself, and the choices you make weigh in greatly. Yes you have a lot less buttons to push and manage, but that doesn't make it less competitive.
It's a good thing that the devs made a strong separation of PVP and PVE. While there are still many similarities as to how PVE/PVP skills relatively work, the fact that they made adjustments to have the skills and abilities be solely for PVP makes it great.
Just curious but what made it "unenjoyable" in the past? Swapping few skills when coming from pve to pvp was never big issue, sure it was slightly annoying but it never turned me off from pvp so that cannot be sole reason.
Yeah I miss this too about ninja. On the other hand at least movement speed in stealth is good now.
Regarding the topic, I like the changes but wish we could have a few more skills (2-3 more maybe) and wish the additional skills and traits were more impactful.

The "old" PvP was hardly unplayable, and I'll even say that there are some great changes in the "new" PvP, but trying to force fit all jobs down to 9 buttons is where they went wrong. Before 4.0, I thought about the stuff I used the most in PvP as a MCH, and I came up with about 9-12 things, most of which is not in the kit at all now. Then you look at Bard that got to keep not one, but 2 of its most powerful oGCDs and it really makes me question the thinking behind the changes.
It's a shame that SE threw away so much to try and redesign PvP to be better. It may seem better for some, but had they kept the right things and made only the good changes with them, it'd be so much better.
The jobs now are hard to describe. I would like to see jobs get more of an identity. I know this isn't LoL and I don't want that. But have any of you seen a tournament? They choose heroes to counter other heroes. I'd like to see that, he picked pld so need to counter with drk. There isn't a lot of consistency either. Like war has 3 abilities that consume gauge every other job I've played has one.
Now I can see why pvp DRK is so good. Because you can make the job core mechanics in 9 buttons. Since we just play around with bloodspiller and TBN xD
