Constant FPS drop

i'm going to explain in a few steps because its easier.
1-yesterday i played FF14 just fine other stuff running on background like discord and a few tabs open on browser. no problem

2- later i turned on my pc again and tried to play ff14 but i had absurd fps drop to 17-30.

3- I tried to update my gpu driver, restart my pc and didnt work

4-Once i turned off discord fps went back to normal 70+fps. Either browser or discord on would lower my fps

5- I tried checking temp, psu, cleaning my pc, changing gpu configs.. everything is fine e nothing helps.

6 - i tried other games, heavy graphics games like rise of the tomb raider and everything worked FINE.

7- Uninstalled and download ff all again... didnt work

8- Turned off directx11 support on configs and worked.......

Well I would like to continue using directx11 to have better graphics on the game or maybe use extra shaders.

reinstalled the game on my other HD and helped...not for too long :/.
Once i finaly finished configuring my ooptions...armor sets and hotbars I decided to take a break and alt tab to browser. WHen i alt tabbed back to the game it was on 30 fps again.

The hardware memory flaw comes to mind on the 970. Also running with just 8 gb of ram is possibly a limitation. Check memory usage when running the game.

8GB RAM is more than enough for ff :/ and I've been playing the rise of the tomb raider these days and i have no fps problems with all the graphics on HQ

Not having any problem with my other games makes me think its something between FF14 and directx11 only...

That's just a general assumption. If you're not checking suggestions, then there's no real way to troubleshoot for you. Sometimes you have to manually rule out things even if they seem obvious. FYI: I've exceeded 8GB usage while using FFXIV with windows 10 installed and a minimal set of apps. I'm running a 980, which your card is minus a single laser cut, and do not have these issues you speak of.

Another issue might be you allowing the creators update to install which is highly counterproductive to FFXIV performance.

I wasnt being rude and checked the stuff you said... still weird that i can play other games that are supposed to be way worse but i still cant run FF with Directx 11 support....

CASE CLOSED problem solved,
Just as random as my problem was (only with FF14) it was solved,
I messed a little bit with some options on EVGA Precision X and my fps went back to normal with directx11 support
