    Materia Removal Option in 4.1

    I honestly like the idea of us removing materia from our gear. 100% on I-IV, 80% on V, and 40% on VI. Kinda a good way on not only saving some gil, but also redoing the melding if you make a mistake, and it could actually be a useful thing since we lose materia everytime we upgrade our gear with upgrade items, though we still might lose em if we fail the removal. What are your thoughts on that?

    It should have been something added in game long ago. Materia aren't supposed to be extra stats for end game player, but a way to personnalize your stats at all. It shouldn't be as expensive as it is, but it's getting easier to get them unlike pre-4.0. Crafter and Gatherer are still left out of it tho.

    But what will us non crafters sell now?
    What will become of clusters now?
    What will become of hunting?
    What will become of cenutrio seals...

    :x I won't ever need to farm for materia now and the market for it will be completely gone.

    It's not hard to get most materia. The only ones that are a bit more annoying to get are gathering/crafting ones.

    Honestly, it's not going to hurt the market much at all. It just gives the opportunity for people to re-use materia but here's the thing.

    DOH with the best gear setup now needs to replace their crafted gear with new crafted gear. So you made the better gear and now you are removing the materia from the old gear. Think about it for a moment. You honestly aren't gaining much from it while yes the opportunity to regain V and VI is there, there is just as much a chance that they will outright break. Then you also have all the breaks that occur as you try to overmeld. So sure you get that 1 materia back that was your 30th attempt in getting it into slot 5.

    The concept also encourages user to meld tier VI and gives them less excuses to not meld gear(There are still people who have absolutely no materia in gear, not even tier V) so the incentive to allow players to pull out materia is a step in the right direction to push people to meld materia into their gear.

    Materia value comes because it's constantly in need of replacement. If it was renewable the value would just plummet. It's easy enough to get so there's no real benefit of having this feature.

    We should be able to remove materia with a 100% success rate in my opinion and just add a higher cost per tier. However, they would also have to make sure that the materia you remove can't suddenly be put on the market board.

    I considered the fact it could harm the market on materia, but then I re-thought it. Between the unlimited clusters available in the leveling roulette, the many clusters you can get from hunts, the ability to buy G6's with hunt marks on top of that, along with the fact that the 24 man will probably give a cluster as well since the last 24mans did? The value is only going to keep going down anyway. Oh and also the potential for clusters from WT as well though that's obviously subject to much more RNG.

    This is beyond stupid. Why do they keep ruining every income on the market?? Its like the game can't have any feature that doesn't hold a hand. People need to realize that when they are melding they are using up that materia and won't get it back. Whats so hard about that???

    get a crafter and gather up if your that worryed about losing things to sell. this should have been implemented from the start. stop complaining : oh i cant sell this or that because i no longer have the market for it. really if thats all you rely on in the first place its kinda sad. run maps, do old dungeons sell the 50below gear green gear is sell-able, do hunts sell other things, sell soil from poetics, they give you soo many options as a casual player to make money and you rely on just 1 thing and thats sad.

    First off I do have most of my crafters up and both (important) gatherers up. And second don't tell me what I can't focus on for trying to make an income, this game already sucks when trying to sell things. This is hand holding to the finest and once again making a feature for the lazy.
