I actually think they'll nerf Fell Cleave. Give Utility, take some potency.Assuming Shake it Off remains what the translation said, Dark Knight is basically dead in comparison. It's noticeably weaker both in DPS and mitigation. The Blackest Night may be nice but it's nowhere near enough to compensate for what Warrior and Paladin offer. And this assumes they aren't increasing Fell Cleave's potency.
I agree with this I would not be surprised if war gets a small potency nerf if they are getting utility
also apparetly SHAKE IT OFF will act as something akin to thrill of battle but for the whole team I'd this is actually a veru significant and neat buff and defintely brings up the value of warriors over dark night I think DRK needs some future adjustments probably fo 4.15 or 4.2 they need to bring their dps and utility slightly up I'd say maybe make TBN a party shield similar to SS2 use to be now all tanks will do similar damage and bring the same utility value hell make is so TBN is highly effective against magic attacks to bring some flavour to DRK.
I hope this is what they'll do. I'm having trouble understanding the translation in regards the Fell Cleave changes, other than it's being changed. There seems to be some confusion as well whether or not it will be made available in defiance,; the quote in question specifically (from reddit):
で、フェルクリーブで使命と原初の解放が、今まで個別にアクションそうといられたんですけど、スタンスによって使える使えないが変わるので、お引き換えアクションになります
"As for Fell Cleave and Inner Release, until now they've been separate actions, but whether or not you can use them changes depending on stance, so they will become interchangable actions."
To me it seemed that there would be a change because FC/IB and IR/Unchained already share buttons, but I guess it could also be interpreted as IR and FC being combined into a button based on... gauge? That also seems weird to me though. Make of it what you will.
That translation makes it sound like they will just become '1 action' whose stats change based on stance. Think more like blood spiller. It is 1 action, but has different effects and even potency based on grit/no grit. To me I read it as something like: FC and inner release are being deleted. IB will now loose the DR and gain potency if used in Deliverance (a la blood spiller), Unchained will ignore Defiance penalty in defiance and half gauge consumption in deliverance.
Just kinda simplifying the system. Why have 3 abilities with clones for another stance when you cant ever use the 'other' one anyway? They already 'swap' on your hotbar with stance. Why change the icon at all. More of a QoL/streamline type thing.
The devs have done some "interesting" things in the past and are highly likely to do so even in the future, so until the future that is 4.1 have become the past I for one will not speculate or take anything as being assured.
Add to that this simple fact, they did not mention any potency changes so we have no idea how much jobs will be buffed or nerfed until the patch notes are here. Take the change to shake it off as an example, we know it will be some def buff for the party but how long the cd will be, how long duration it will have, or how much it will do I have not heard.
That is true but i don't think the difference should be so great when PLD is essentially tied with WAR give or take 50 dps. PLD is no longer as simple as it was but it's not very difficult. I don't want DRK to deal 200 more dps, I just think the difference is a little drastic.

while paladin is not much harder it does get hevaily punished too on fight transitions and mechnincs too specially during magic burst if the boss jumps, does heavy doging dps flunks down fast, drk are more steady and clean the whole way while pld and specially war rellies on high burst for dps.That is true but i don't think the difference should be so great when PLD is essentially tied with WAR give or take 50 dps. That is true. But PLD loses less dps from these kind of mistakes. WAR relies entirely on Inner Release for the bulk of its dps. PLD you can afford to miss or mess up a couple of FoF or Req phases and your dps won't drop to the floor. Since unlike WAR you get two seperate phases to burst every min, which is both good and bad because of that.
DRK only really has to to worry about losing.a Delirium BW window....but idk I really think it's too low, where's my max dps min maxing ; ;

if you look on the dps and the only factor is how punishing the rotation is you may be right that it's fair that DRK does less damage overall.
however, dps is not the only thing a tank has to worry about: dps, mitigation, selfheal, utility. the DRK is behind in everything. if we had better mitigation to make up for the dps loss, fine, i wouldn't say anything. but when WAR gets his aoe shield now he has even better utility than DRK. in the WAR - PLD comparsion the balance gets better, but DRK falls behind now even more.
