I guess? But it's later patches were still mostly formulaic to the former. Looking back I am actually wrong, neither are as formulaic as people are making out. Difference is that 2.x's unique content (from 2.2 onwards to be fair to your point) came in the form of hunts, frontlines, and the gold saucer, which were all pretty successful.

Cobbled remake I disagree with, all of the things I mentioned were new content (including feast, which as similar to wolves den as it was brought a new type of gameplay, new arena, new music and a ranking and tournament system).

As for content being a failure, that doesn't matter, it is still content being added to the game. We are discussing SE sticking to a formula and not trying new things, and about content patches being empty and more of the same. Whether content failed or not does not detract from it being unique content that is a large part of a patch. People are arbitrarily ignoring Rival wings and Ultimate coil as brand new content that breaks the mould, and whether they are a success or not is neither known or relevant to this particular discussion.

Also the devs have said time and again that Eureka is nothing like diadem, and that it involves more than just relic. Tying diadems name to it only gives you false impressions on a content that we know very little about.
