    I think what bswpayton is getting at is that housing and hairstyle are Cosmetic Content, while the game is currently lacking in relevant Gameplay Content and what gameplay content we do get is a repeat/clone of older gameplay content. (Relevant doesn't have to be specific to only the 5% of raiders, it can be things like PotD or Diadem when they first came out)

    I can forgive delaying Eureka until 4.2 if the developers do not make it into a Diadem 1.0/Diadem 2.0 clone, and make it good, long lasting content. As for the repeated formula for content, well, SE is afraid to deviate from anything but their past formula. That’s not me defending them—I would love some deviation from the same-old-same-old—but considering 1.0 nearly destroyed the company and definitely destroyed the original FFXIV...

    That's fair, but out of the 3 new types of things in hw (potd, diadem and lov) 2 of them were considered flops by the playerbase... can you really blame them about being hesitant (maybe... we will see what eureka is) about trying something new? I mean I am always game for new things.. if i like it great, if not ok... but if you add something that flops you get "why did you do this new thing instead of adding (insert safe thing they always did). I mean already in this thread are some people basically "we gave up a dungeon for this???" Would having 2 dungeons instead of the other stuff that is getting added have been better?

    Sadly, things flopping are an occupational hazard in MMORPGs, especially if you aren't receiving outside opinions before you launch content . The dev team doesn't receive outside critique until they release things and having worked on them for so long, they might not see that problems with them and just might want to ship it out and be done with it. The dev team really should look into hiring testers instead of just testing things themselves, they can get more opinions.

    I don't disagree with this... BUT... none of this has anything to do with telling other people that what they enjoy about the game is a waste of resources. Wanna complain that this patch is lacking? Ok. Wanna claim that SE should take more risks? Ok. What's not ok is thinking any singular person gets to say what is a proper use of dev time.
