Maybe because even if we are disappointed with things we are still not hating a game and want it to run long and successful? Why do people not understand that criticism does not mean that people hate something? I really enjoy FF14 otherwise I would not pay the subscription..but the direction its going is something I dont like. I have a small possibility to change this direction by writing about it in the forum. (Just like us summoners got sustain back thanks to our posts)

Even the devs had once pointed out that criticism is worth more than compliments because it gives them the chance to get better and to not lose people..So with your "door is over there" you are not doing SE a favor..you are even hurting them if people would follow that advise and just simply stop paying..because its a game that needs it money to continue and even those that are not happy with things but are still playing for different reasons are still paying money..

Its just sad that people feel the need to personal attack others..its completely fine if you like the patch and OPs title may be a bit too much but this does not mean that one has to personal attack others..(This is not directed at you but about some of those posts in this thread)

Mya: I am not 100% sure but isnt account sharing against the ToS? I am not sure if you should put that information about this in your sig.

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

Exactly, and while everyone has their personal taste I do feel there are certain content types that were enjoyed as a whole. Like Deep Dungeon, even now people are still doing it(even if majority might be for xp) but it's a piece of content that remains relevant because they implemented it in a smart way.

At the end of the day what people hope to see is content that can last the test of time, that has longevity to it, that isn't made outdated once the next patch comes out.

4.0 into 4.1, Omega remains relevant, 24-Raid provides a source to gear quicker but then you hit 4.2 and start all over again, Omega loses it's appeal along with the 24-man raid cause now the older tome gear can be gained with unlimited tomes. Their current content cycle is awful because they are the ones shooting themselves in the foot with content longevity. They are the ones making the awful choice of saying, let's have 1-2 unique loot in each content and once you obtain it you no longer have a need to run this content. They are the one using Khloe's concept as a way to keep content used but still very much unneeded. Khloe doesn't require you to enter the content under min IL or even in a full part of the appropriate level. It just makes the content needed for that short period of time.

If anything one thing I wish SE would consider is "Difficulty" that limits your IL while adding new reward to old content. Easy(No IL sync), Normal(IL cap for X content), Hard(Min IL for said content) Extreme(-10 IL of recommended content) and Savage(-20 IL of recommended content)

Give people this option to challenge themselves and add loot which encourages them to partake in said challenge. There is nothing wrong if people want the easy brute force IL method of overcoming content but for those who want challenge, give them the option to set their IL and provide rewards based on how much the group challenges themselves.
