Oh god, I didn't know how bad botting was in Frontlines until a month ago. I queued with friend later at night when we got put into a 24 man as Flames. We were the only 2 people not botting on our team. There were about 3/8 people on Maelstrom who were legit playing. The whole Adders team was botting in the middle. Crazy.

There is probably enough for me in this patch as I have been playing a few other games. But, I think the quoted text is the main issue people have. Too many little things that help make the bullet points like yours a little bit longer. People want content that is going to last long enough through the next patch cycle. This is where Eureka/relic could have helped tremendously as it is usually a grind. So I do understand people's frustration. The little things like Bard's perform, squads, and UI improvements should of taken a back seat or slowly worked on after actual core content like Eureka or the 2nd Deep Dungeon. And let's be real, housing is not content that everyone gets to experience. It has and is always going to be for a very select few who are lucky enough to be the first to log on when the patch is live on Oct. 10th. After that first 10 minute window, you're outta luck.

This would have done it, even if the content is the same at this point. Eureka has been my one thing I've been basically hoping to hear about, and all they keep doing is pushing it back. This content is going to fall out for 4.1 because they're focusing on things that could be other short extensions to add for a 24-48hr period outside the major patches related content to allow going from one patch to the next to last long enough.

    4.1 through 4.15 is...
    > Alliance raid
    > Light-Party Dungeon
    > Main Scenario quests
    > New PvP mode and map
    > New housing area and updates
    > First ever Ultimate raid
    > Extreme trial
    > Squadron dungeon content
    > Hildibrand sidequests
    > Beast Tribe quests
    > Perform music feature
    > Custom Delivery content
    > Deeper treasure map dungeon with new mechanics
    > Many major UI improvements
    > Cross-world friend list, tells
    > Raid roulette + adjustments to Labyrinth
    > and the usual job fixes, new mounts, etc
Alliance raid - yeah it's new and I'm looking forward to it, but it won't last the patch cycle.
Light pt dungeon - yes it's new, and like other dungeons, will become tedious
MSQ - Standard, will last a week conservatively, don't know how many we are getting
New pvp - I'll give that to you. New map, objectives, and teams. Will last until 5.0
New housing area and updates - The housing area is already there, they are unlocking plots so it wasn't designed or implemented in 4.1. The updates are QoL and not content. Only a fraction of the population will be able to enjoy this.
Ultimate raid - stated by the devs that it is not content for everyone
New Extreme - changed some mechanics and made it harder, recycled old content
Squadron Dungeon - talked about since 2.0, still running dungeons we have run 100 times, if the dungeons were new and unique to squads I'd give it to you. It's old content with a new mechanic.
Hildabrand - only an intro so 2-4 fetch quests? 30 - 45 min?
Beast tribe - standard, 45 min to complete each day
Music feature - only for bard, if they gave everyone an orch. iPod to do the same then you might of had something. You already know ppl are going to ask for it. 5.0 new feature?
Custom delivery - exactly the same as now
Deeper treasure map - so my one map has a chance to become 2? Saves me from buying one I guess
The rest - UI and QoL improvements, not content. Yes even the 24 man raid finder. It's not new, we are still doing old content, it's just easier to access.

As consumers, it's fair to give feedback. As fellow human beings, perhaps it's also fair to ask to be civil when doing so? We won't ever all agree. That's fine and in certain ways, awesome. We all make up the FFXIV community. Raiders, GlamourPusses, Socials, Interior Decorators, and every other tag that has been given to an MMO player.

Feedback gives the devs a more rounded feel with their game stats to decide where to take the game next. It's never a bad thing when taken objectively.

It's a good foundation patch with QoL changes and adjustments to classes. Santa didn't give us everything on our wishlist; and for some of us, anything on our list. But if it benefits others in the community, it's not a bad thing?

I think the main issue is that they had to delay Eureka, which means we'll get very little battle content. Disregarding Unending Coil, we're looking at three new PvE duties (four, if we count the new secret rooms in Uznair, but that's heavily dependant on RNG), and you can't argue that's not a lot. You also have to take in consideration that only two of those are totally new.

For me, I'll always take quality over quantity, so if the new duties ooze of developer creativity and are engaging and fun and not just the same old formula, I won't complain. Return to Ivalice has so much potential, so I hope they try to step out of the box and are not afraid to experiment with it. I saw a swimming scene in the trailer, which gives me a small glimmer of hope.

Swimming is not innovative or exciting 'content'. I'd say it's probably the largest waste of development for any game I've seen in a while. It has no function. Except to 'look pretty'...but with yet another loading zone. By the second or third run I guarantee everyone will hit the 'Ugh, here's the slow Swimming part of the dungeon'

If swimming is considered compelling new exciting and innovative content that players in this community feel are better than actual content, then this games community is actually more an issue than I thought it was.

It's more the Dev team adding it thinking it was actually adding something to the game that we wanted and would be excited about. But feels disgustingly forced, boring and like a chore.

No, I agree. Swimming without any sort of purpose other than to get from A to B is definitely not exciting content, but it gives me hope that they might have done something different with the raid. I'm most likely reading too much in to it, but I'm struggling to get excited for the patch, so I'm trying to hold on to any kind of hope that they've shaken things up a little =/
