If performance mattered, you'd have teams of nothing but bards and machinists playing firing lines because they both take an IQ of 23 to play and perform better than any other job with far less effort. I'd prefer to still be able to play jobs I want to level.

I must agree that when it comes to FL at least both BRD and MCH are really strong in there, some could say they are stupidly effective compared to other jobs and i would have to agree with that. But then again BRD was as good as it is now back in ARR because it had same mobility, other jobs don't really have many tools to counter kiting like they did in ARR(CD's, stuns etc)so that is probably biggest difference between ARR and SB BRD. Yes MNK, NiN and DRG have gap-closers but its kinda funny that BRD can counter those by repelling shot and MCH can use that aoe stun and go yolo with bolt afterwards.

I still like NiN most even if its harder to perform well without good team unlike BRD and MCH that that can perform well even if you don't get team support.

Medals would track participation not performance. There would still be caps on rewards like now. Medals would just ensure you weren't a bot on auto-follow.

This still wouldn't work, because the bots don't just autofollow. They get engaged in fights, often very aggressively. 90% of the time you see team battles in the center of a frontline match, it's just clusters of bots. I don't think people understand just how many characters in these matches or bots or how sophisticated the bots are.
