Welp, here goes again:

As much as I've been utilizing it, I'd be fine with XP in PvP going away because that's not why I did it in the first place. I know that won't happen as it's now been opened up to players at level 30 and they're trying to push to allow it from even level 1, but it goes without saying that issues with botting, exploiting, giving up, and just general lack of knowledge or understanding of the modes only became an issue once XP was offered.

People love to try and point out Garo as the big savior of PvP. It's not. If the Gold Saucer versions of the gear were implemented at the same time and dyeable, most would've opted to just go for that instead. Lifting the GC restrictions - the biggest request of the PvP community that existed before 3.5/4.0 that many didn't know about or simply didn't acknowledge - was the big fix. Changing up the cost and rewards of Wolf Marks helped too, but that was largely a change with the event in mind. Still, you can't feasibly say that an event no one knew about until just before it began outweighs a much needed and wanted change that improved and made matchmaking easier. That's just not even comparable.

Removing emotes? No. Don't you dare. Given that they've oversimplified all job's kits, removed gear stats, and left us with the base forms of PvP-specific skills that used to be upgradeable, emotes are one of the last few little bits of expression we have left. Yeah, it sucks when someone wants to gloat if they take you down. . . But that's when you mark em, respawn, and take them down. Simple as that. I recently had a Battle Fever NIN running from me at dangerously low HP. They only survived by their team completely diverting to stop me, then they came back and laughed. Funny right? It was even funnier when I respawned, switched to my main job, then came back and took them down in half the time it took before. It's all a part of competition. Sure, mind your manners and don't take it too far, but when they score a touchdown and spike the ball, score one back and spike it on them.

This has essentially driven many good PvPers away, thus you're left with bots. So, yes, I would rather slower times or for PvP to die completely if they can't be arsed to actually enforce their policies. They've put significant resources into a mode they won't manage.
Much of this is unfortunately more true than I want it to be :/
