I agree. Avoiding the blind argument is honestly the best thing to do. I'm personally of the solo-preferred playstyle, but I don't hate the party play at all. That should honestly be the extent of it for anyone, regardless of style of choice. This is what the genre is and how the populous chooses to play is their own within the limitations permitted.

Further, as others have pointed out, we have been able to solo dungeons for a long time, now. Yet, years after ARR, I'm still CONSTANTLY, ANNOYINGLY ROLLING THE FIRST 3 DUNGEONS IN EVERY LEVELING ROU FOR 2 WEEKS NOW WTF so, history suggests your concerns are unwarranted.
Well to be fair, it is a different situation given how most jobs/players can't really solo dungeons of their level, unlike how it seems it'll be with Squadrons. That's pretty much it though.

Personally, I'm very excited to have more things to do with my squad. It worked wonderfully in Guild Wars. I hope the system is as well-developed as I'm imagining it to be.
Again, agreed. I don't know how it worked for GW, but if Squadrons can function similarly to how they do in XI with the Trust system, then it'd be quite the improvement to QoL possibilities. Then again, I'd imagine they'll function similar to how NPCs do in current combat situations, which is mindlessly basic. Should work out fine for this game though with that low of an AI.

I didn't get to enjoy FF11 unfortunately so I can't comment. In Guild Wars, there was an NPC version of every class that you could bring with you in place of either some or all of the slots that another person would fill. You generally couldn't bring them into the game's 'elite' difficulty content, but they were sufficient for story content. I never would have made it through the game without them.

Another example might be FF12. The mechanics might've since passed on to other games, I haven't played beyond 12 (yet), but the way you could set up your ally's actions and skills so they fought intelligently was fantastic. I loved that game.

If the SCH quest AI allies are anything to go by, our squadrons will be better than 60% of the playerbase.

Oh yes! That's exactly the example that came to my mind when I wrote the last point. They were doing all mechanics correctly in the Lost City. It was baffling and reminded me how players failed at it, when I had this couple of NPCs doing things right.

Few thoughts about using NPC groups in dungeons:

    1. Some games don't force group dungeoning, but it also depends on the dungeon's difficulty. This game is taking a step in that direction now.
    2. DPS queue complaining will be a thing of the past. This in turn may actually cause DPS Adventurer in Needs to appear in Leveling Roulette among others.
    3. This actually coincides with both Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy Explorers. The former you could get and level multiple NPCs to fight alongside you, and the latter you could take up to 3 monsters into missions with you and level too in place of co-op players. When you think about it, this update fits the theme of the new raid coming...

I know some people will think this is a step in making this game more solo-friendly but is that really a bad thing? The MMO aspect simply means you need internet and others are around whether you like it or not. Doesn't mean you have to interact if you don't want to.

Aside from what others have already said, it's also a much needed improvement to the Squadron system. It will no longer be just something you interact with once every 18 hours just for some "rewards". Being able to glam them is just the icing on the cake.

So instead of trying to find a solution to DPS queue times we add the most easy of ways to deal with the issue that all MMORPG's have( Because always DPSs are more than Tanks) and call the day ?
I mean if people can start doing Dungeons with their private army today, why they will not start bringing them to the world or even to the raids to fullfil missing spots?
I mean its better to have a bot than missing an player and dont do the raid right ?

Actually that is a fine idea if only it stayed there

We already have an NPC for open world: Chocobo
