I remember (kind of fondly, cause it actually went well) a DRK about two months ago that I got during 50/60 roulette who had less HP than I did on WHM in the Antitower. His gear was not broken.

Thankfully that dungeon is easy enough that I was able to tank it for him with the stunlock from Holy. He was super cool about it and promised to go gear up right after.

I know not everyone is as agreeable, my two cents are just to give people in crap gear a shot if you want to have them improve. Votekicking someone isn't likely to make them think about upgrading their gear. Telling them about the importance of gearing up while helping them might.

All that aside I would much prefer a blanket ilvl minimum for dungeons of certain levels as has been suggested here - forcing people to gear up to access content is really the only surefire way to make them get the picture.

Completely agree I had this dude in leveling roulette and he was in 58 gear in freaking doma castle.... I'm had to say something after it took us 15mins to make it to the first boss like are you serious or to lazy to buy the cheap crappy 60+ in kugane or other merchants I mean you even get a piece after you complete a dungeon....

In the expert roulette we had a BLM without foul because he didn't "feel like" doing the lvl 70 job quest I wanted to throw my controller Like does he not knw how great that skill is

I'm not referring to the gear itself. I mean how you get the gear - different vendors, multiple types of tomes, various tokens (sometimes you're visiting 2 or 3 different vendors for one piece) - and at no stage does the game give you any clue about where to find the gear, or how the system works. Then they swap it all around, change tomes, move vendors. After you've been doing it a while you get a feel for how it's going to work, but when you stop and think about it its not very obvious, particularly to new people just starting the gear grind.
