Question about the team's preform action copyright worries?

I asked about this in my FC and they were confident that the request SE made was just a means to cover themselves legally from copyright complaints. So they can say "Look, you can see here that we made an active effort to prevent it. Cant control everyones actions."

Besides, I feel the matter is a little strange. Imagine I give a child an electric guitar, and he decides to play smoke on the water on it. Then Richie Blackmore hears of it and starts complaining to me. Am I responsible and should I take the kids guitar away?

It is pretty obvious that is to cover his back. Let's see a example. Mario Paint. It is a very old game from SNES. This one includes a midi-music composer. A lot of people making videos of music in YouTube. And nothing has been happened. This is the same exact case. They just say that to cover his back, making SE not responsible of what music players will use. "We already state they can only use SE music", but cannot oblige players accept it (unless, of curse, they use it for monetary purpose, in that case maybe can be a problem).

I LOL'ed when they mentioned potentially taking the feature down due to copyright issues. They honestly might as well not even bother. It's not a question of ~if~ we will see a circle of lalas Lemonade'ing, but ~when~. GG wasting dev resources on a system that's coming down within the first 48, really. Not that I'm blaming Squee, I'm not, but to assume in good faith that people have any sense of self control suggests they're living in a world as imaginary as the one they gave us to run about in. Poor, optimistic little deluded developer peoples. D'aw.

I wonder if LOTRO ever got in any legal trouble for it. Some of the musicians were pretty impressive.
