Welcome to Eccentricity.

In most, or perhaps all MMOs, there is a trend where towards the vast majority of players focusing only on the "latest and greatest" content, and Final Fantasy XIV is no exception. While there is nothing inherently wrong with this approach, it does bring about some unfortunate consequences. Most content in MMOs is released, and then forgotten when the next release hits. As a result, it becomes extremely difficult to find a party for this non-mainstream content.

Here at Eccentricity, we strive against this phenomenon by building a community of players who are interested in the eccentric: anything non-mainstream or unconventional. Our members are like-minded individuals who have banded together to facilitate finding parties for their interests. Eccentricity accepts players with any level of experience, with the only prevailing requirement being an interest in the eccentric and a willingness to participate in or host eccentric content.

Eccentricity officially defines “eccentric content” as the following:

--Synced trials and raids.
--Minimum IL content.
--Undersized content (minIL, synced, or unsynced).
--Odd-composition parties.
--Any duty with a specialized limitation (e.g. FPS-view only, i120 gear only, etc)

We also appreciate how difficult it is for new players to progress in the Main Scenario and are willing to help them find parties for the less popular duties. We encourage members that are new players to consider completing Main Scenario content (especially climactic duties) on Minimum IL, to make the battle feel more intense and authentic!

It’s worth keeping in mind that “eccentricity” is hard to define and quite subjective! So it’s not set in stone. In more general terms, we consider something “eccentric” if the purpose is not mainstream. For example, doing a 5-player run of TitanEX, unsynced, is not eccentric if the purpose of completing it is to quickly clear it for Wondrous Tails or to unlock content. However, if the purpose was to see if a party of 5 DPS in i150 gear could complete it, then it is eccentric. In general, we do not consider speedrunning exclusively eccentric, although a speedrun under one of the other classifications would be. Even though the purpose of Eccentricity is to facilitate eccentric content, our members all have their own preferences, and are by no means banned from petitioning assistance from other members for more mainstream content, though we do ask that mainstream and eccentric ads are kept separate when using the Discord.

Eccentricity utilizes two different platforms: Discord and Linkshell.

The Eccentricity Discord is our main platform and is open to all members, plus limited access for public participants that want to join for party communication purposes. Regular, scheduled events for eccentric content are advertised in dedicated channels on the Discord, where members can easily RSVP to attend. Members can also advertise for spontaneous events in dedicated channels.

The Eccentricity Linkshell is the local Adamantoise group of Eccentricity members, and serves as a place to gather, chat, and also acts as a secondary platform for advertising duties.

If you are a player who enjoys breaking away from the norm, are a new player struggling to find parties for your duties, or if you’re just occasionally bored with the mainstream, we encourage you to apply to Eccentricity and contribute to countering the lack of parties for unconventional content. Going through old content at the correct I'll. This character stopped leveling intentionally at 50 and began old ARR endgame content. She won't step foot in Ishgard until she's done it all.

Currently no. I raided in WoW and played just about every other major MMO title.

Playing on the Cactuar server and manage my own FC, so I'd decline an FC invite. However, if there is a linkshell on Cactuar, I have slots open and would be willing to join. When cross-server linkshells get implemented, will join one.

Yes, practically on Discord 24/7.

Mostly syncing content, but I'm game for anything other than specialized limitation.
