only if it comes with /sexThere should be a system where married couples can either have or adopt children. It would be so cool! it'd bring a whole new level in to the marriage system; having a family is an important part in a marriage.
I'm not certain about the details, but maybe they could act as retrainers when they get about a certain age. They could start off as infants and grow up to a certain point over time. Any other ideas would be great!

Very astute, however I don't think this suggestion is asking for the sims. They asked for possibly having kids from a marriage.
I think it'd be neat to have the whole relationship aspect between two characters be deeper. Maybe have them be like a really involved plant or chocobo: they need mats to grow and learn and if you miss so many checkins or provide poor items they become delinquent or if you give them really good resources and advice they become elite members of society and give you little perks. Maybe if they start work with the airship fleets your airship flights are a little cheaper, maybe if they become alchemists you get pots a little cheaper or can buy certain items from the alchemist guild that others cannot.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
Adopt the kids is kinda sensitive.
How about adopt some "Egg" ?
Player can tend it different ways and when it hatches it will become mammals, insects, birds,Fish etc. etc. depend on how we take care of it (RNG involved).
After hatched then we send the monster to nursery and got rewards up to how good we took care of it.

This would also be fun, but really why would you need to be married to have a pet? I understand the implications of suggesting kids are just items to have for benefits.. but I think the OP is mostly looking for a way for a marriage to be more than just a "ok.. now we're married.. now what?" thing.I'm mostly spitballing at how it could be added since it's been done in other games: I was someone's "kid" in RO. It was cute, I got xp buffs from partying with them and we could teleport to each other.. it did kinda suck when i got "orphaned" and since kids had reduced stats it was even harder for my character to level.. but while it was happening it was a cute little addition.Adopt the kids is kinda sensitive.

I think a lot of people are reading wayyy to deep into the morality of it. It's still just a game. Do you also think of the hundreds of sentient beings you've murdered just for the XP? We've killed gods, kings and footsoldiers and abandoning a kid is where you draw the line?

Maybe put them in houses like the other npcs we have.

what about what they did with tesv:skyrim where you can adopt orphans...there are plenty orphans around aorzea and other places
I LOVE this ideaAdopt the kids is kinda sensitive.

I think the issue that is stopping SE from adding this feature to the game, is the same reason why we can not play as children. There are people who will use the NPC s to act out something that SE does not want their brand to be associated with.
My advice, find a Lalafell and ask them to roleplay with you.
