It's only useful if you have something like recount on WoW to see how much dps you are doing. Then in a way its not that useful if you get buffs/debuffs from while in a party with others.

It could be a great addition. Particular if we had varies test dummies with various def, resist and what not and of various level to test on.

This could be something cool to have in your mog house. They already mentioned having mannequins in your mog house. They could expand the mannequin into functioning like a practice dummy as well.

Make a menu where you can set the dummy's parameters such as level, and element, etc.

Great idea! It would be cool if the guilds, or your personal quarters, allow you to enter an instance and practice combos, spells, and what not on your "dummy/punching bag". Make it a little diverse though by creating dummy dodo targets to beat up on, or dummy sheep, pterocs, etc. in a silly anime~ish looking form for players to purchase and add in their homes/training grounds.

Also, if you undergo personal training and pull off certain combos once a day on your dummy/punching bag you can earn some EXP to boost your character along by yet another means.

I fully support the addition of test dummies! At Lv. 50 you can't simply run outside town and fight the local monsters to test things because you kill everything in 1 hit so you are forced to find stronger monsters, which might even require you to teleport somewhere for sake of something that might take as little as 10 seconds to test.

Many MMOs have test dummies however I think SE can get very creative here and go far beyond other MMOs by having "Magitek" dummies which can be "programmed" to have specific parameters input via the user to test their damages versus certain defense, evasion, elemental resistances, and magic evasion. Battle will commence when the player runs out of range of the stationary Magitek so that the player can set new parameters if they wish.

Going even further beyond this Magitek can be "programmed" by the user to attack back with set parameters so players may test their own defense, evasion, elemental resistances, and magic evasion. Players should be given a status effect that prevents them from going under a certain amount of HP while in range of the Magitek perhaps if you are within range of an aura that it gives off. Magitek can also be completely stationary and battle will end when the player runs out of range of the Magitek.

Going even further than this an arena can be developed where this Magitek can be programmed to attack or not attack but either way will use many varying AOE attacks that can be dodged which can consist of Frontal Cone, Backwards Cone, Line of Fire, Hotspots, etc. The occurring rate of AOE attacks could be programmed at the Magitek before the battle begins.

Going even further than this a mini game can be developed where your goal is to evade every AOE attack thrown at you with the mini game ending when you get hit and after certain thresholds the AOE attacks become more difficult to evade. Personally I think this would be the best mini game ever.

Going even further this concept can be turned into a "PVP Gauntlet". With a PVP arena it could be a challenge to see which individual is standing last to determine the winner or it could be team based (can be multiple teams even) and when the last team with at least one member standing wins.

    I support this idea.

Would be nice if we could actually adjust their attributes also, on top of their level. Though I'm guessing that may be too much to ask. SE likes to keep a lot of their formulas a secret

Great idea but it sounds better as a co-op pvp arena then something you do by yourself.

Of course most things are much more fun with friends and/or foes! I just got a new idea from your idea.

Gonna update my original post with this.

Ah ... Jolly Ol' Spekkio, how I have missed thee. I would not mind having access to such a trainer again. Or a Ma'at type of trainer too.
