Changing from Steam to Mac

I will change to the Mac Version starting next month (for reasons). As far as I know, I have to buy additional mac licences but that's not the issue.

1. Can I login with the same Steam windows version Character?
2. Can I just buy the retail Mac Version from the Square Enix Online Shop even though I bought the game through Steam in the first place?

Now, I don't have the Steam version but I *think*:
1.) As long as you add the Mac licence on the same SE account as your PC/Steam version, it should be fine!
2.) Should be the same as the PS4 version, you can get it wherever you like, only time there is a issue is if you try to combine normal PC licences with Steam version ones, which do not work together.

(I'm sure if I'm wrong though someone'll be along to tell me how wrong I am. )

I believe you can Access the same account across all platform as long as you register the activation code in the same account at mog station. Though it just that If you bought the steam version, it counts as a "windows" key iirc. In the mog station there's a column for mac, so i guess its treated as a separate and so I am assuming it works the same way as any other platform. If you want to play the mac version with the same account, You will have to buy a mac key, go into mog station and register it. ALSO if you want access to all the expansions, You will have to buy the expansion keys for the mac version. So even if your windows version already has all the expansions on it, you will most likely have to rebuy it all again for the mac.
