Well, despite the clickbait...I'll roll with it. I'd be fine with a HM version as long as they make it at least mostly fun to be there, unlike its 2nd incarnation (technically the 1st for those who didn't play 1.0 such as myself). As it stands now, it's not even visually or mechanically appealing. It sorta makes you feel like it doesn't want you there. And the clothes? They've added a fair amount of other outfits already, another one wouldn't really change much. If they'd want to, go for it. If not, it's all the same.
There's much more than can go wrong in Aurum Vale. Coincounter for example can end up being an easy boss...or a death-parade...all depending on whether the non-tanks remember that they should not eat his high-attack AoE's. Then there's the problem of DPS eating the healing fruits near the healer when everyone's on 3/4 stacks. I had a time when I stood in front of a fruit but before eating it wanted to top up the tank that for whatever reason didn't feel like eating one himself (he knew how to handle this, but I guess it was the sort that waits for one more stack before eating). And a DPS decided to go to the fruit by which I stood, instead of one of the two or three closer to him...and ate it. Before I got to the next closest one to me, the DoT on me and tank lead to a wipe. I died before getting to it by trying to prevent the tank dying a bit too much. Then again, it'd still be a wipe if the tank died.
Aurum Vale HM is something I would absolutely be down for, especially if we got a sweet title like "Breathless" as Canadane suggested.
Maybe make that goldbile poisoning the air a real mechanic.
mmh why not aurum vale savage mode for 4 players :P maybe add some sort of check points with ur group that saves ones progress, so u dont have to do all at once. ^^
I find The Aurum Vale to be one of the most beautiful dungeons in the game for this very reason. It's reputation is well-deserved, and the opening music was composed perfectly for the atmosphere they intended with this place. Even the quest giver admits that he never expected you to make it out of there when you complete it.
You're right though. Everything about that place makes you feel like you're a foreign parasite, and an infection that must be eliminated. It still feels like it can kill you no matter how high your item level is.
