It's utter madness that a person moving a large to a large pays almost the same as a person moving a small to a large.

It's a few million gil in savings. Before they mentioned the discount it was assumed there wouldn't be a discount and we'd pay full price, so even this small percentage is a bonus. The moving system makes it so you no longer lose furniture that explodes (with the exception of fixtures if you end up downgrading) and don't end up homeless getting to a plot you want more than your current one.

In other words, It costs almost the exact same as if you were buying a whole new fresh plot.
So... why not lvl another FC to buy one instead since you are saving absolutely nothing if you want the same size plot! (give or take a couple of million)

Do you think its encouraging people to just try buy another house and own 2 though? Since they will pay almost the same price anyway.
eg. gamble to move my large house to Shirogane for the (total)price of 80mil+ OR lvl an alt and gamble to buy a house in Shirogane and now I own 2 large houses for that 80mil+

I think there should have definitely been a decent fee for the move. But the above makes me worry that they are adding to the problem of plot shortages rather then helping it.

Many of the furnishings no longer explode since they changed it. Once upon a time I removed a leviathan fountain from the yard.
There were ceramic scales lodged in the fence for months afterwards...

Personally I accept that housing is a gil sink and if I want a different plot I'm more than happy to toss the other plot to the wind and spend the gil on a new plot. Not everyone sees it that way, so do as you will.
