    Shirogane Relocation

So I've been busy the past week or so due to college and when I read the Shirogane info I was confused.

When purchasing a plot for relocation, 30% of the minimum value of your old plot will be applied towards the price of the new one.

(Cost of Relocation) = (Destination Plot Price) – (30% of Old Plot Price)

    * In the event reimbursement for the old plot exceeds the price of the destination plot, the cost of relocation will be waived. Please note, however, you will not receive gil for the amount that exceeds the cost of the destination plot.

Does this mean I have to pay more than 20 million for a relocation of a medium house to a medium house? Clearing this up would be of great help. I'm tired so I may just be reading it wrong.

My FC was also discussing about this, from what we understand, you buy the new lot and then you also pay the cost of relocation, so yeah, looks like you'll be paying more than 20mil to relocate a medium house. We might be wrong.

No, I was pretty sure it means that it is refunding you 30% of your old plot's price? Hmm, I'm not relocating so I didn't really look into it but that's the impression I got.

Not sure what's so hard to understand. You get reimbursed 30% of your current house's minimum price (about 2.4 - 3 million gil for a medium) which gets directly spent on the new house's price. That's all it's saying.

Sorry. The wording on it got confusing. Im tired at the time of this post so I was reading it as >Pay the current cost of the house ontop of the relocation cost. If what you say is actually it then that's fine. That's all I really needed clearing up actually.

No problem. Didn't mean to sound condescending, which looking at it now maybe it did with how I said that. Good luck on the house.

If you paid 20M for your current plot and you use the relocation feature then you'll pay 13M for the Shirogane plot. The relocation is just an automated system to move your furniture from the current plot to the new plot and relinquish your current plot without having to do it all manually. There is no actual fee for the relocation beyond purchasing the new plot.

In the event you downgrade such as relocating from a Medium to a small, the 30% discount from the medium plot would be greater than the small plot so you would be able to purchase the small plot for free. But because the 7M discount is greater than the 4M purchase prices of the small plot, you will not be refunded the 3M difference.

It's 30% of minimum price of the plot, not the price you paid.

This. Wolftamer_smn on reddit posted this nice little chart as to what you'd pay (in total, to relocate you pay for the plot at a slight discount):

(link is directly to the image since the forum shrinks it down)

There's a gallery here that shows the plot grades (1-5) per district if you don't know the grade you're going from/to. Apologies to whomever made those, don't know who to credit.

Oh my sweet Nophica I didn't realise it was 30% of the MINIMUM.

In other words, It costs almost the exact same as if you were buying a whole new fresh plot.
So... why not lvl another FC to buy one instead since you are saving absolutely nothing if you want the same size plot! (give or take a couple of million)

*sigh* They need to think these things through better so they discourage this kind of behaviour, not promote it.
It's utter madness that a person moving a large to a large pays almost the same as a person moving a small to a large.
