Savage Loot Suggestion

I really don't like the current 2 chest system when there's only 4 bosses each tier. I think instead of completely locking out chests for an entire raid group for one person having already cleared is a bit much.

I had an idea that might balance letting us raid as much as we want while also having a bit of fun and going in to maybe help other people clear:

Keep the system as it is for the class that you cleared the boss on, but allow players to enter again with a new raid group as a different class without affecting the raid's chests. However, I should be unable to roll on things such as dips, twines, weapon tomestones and upgrades, etc.

If I could at least greed for things that my offspec can use and nothing else, I think it would give the very small amount of content some replayability.

Example: I kill a savage boss on paladin, therefore I cannot reenter the same boss on paladin without messing up chests, just how the current system is.

However, I may reenter as bard without messing up the raid group's chests, but the absolutely only thing I can roll on or benefit from are bard drops, and I can only greed on it, not need, so I could totally lose it to a white mage that's also rolling greed on the bard pants.

i am always scanning PF for no chest/1 chest parties after i clear my raids for the week so i can try and optomize better on different jobs or just to help out when im bored.

So i do like this idea, it would be a way to get lucky and have more chances to gear secondary jobs while also not gamebreaking at all because RNG for the loot to drop on top of RNG to get outgreeded would balance spamming it if you have every job to 70.

you just want free loots, square enix wants to stagger everything until they decide it's time to unlock the tier.

how is that free loot? it's incentive to continue playing with very very small chance at reward. ff14 lacks content severely so they need to give what they have some replayability

The reason for the current system is that if claiming loot had no effect on the end loot, half-competent raiders would sell clears to an 8th slot repeatedly. SE seems to hate that kind of thing.

I really think they should adjust the 2 chests to where if 1-2 people have already cleared for the week, the raid as a whole still gets the 2 chests. And, like it is now, those who have cleared cannot roll on the loot. I was discussing this with a friend this morning.

1-2 people cleared: 2 chests
3-5 people cleared: 1 chest
6-8 people cleared: no chests

That will allow people to help friends out after they've already cleared without screwing the rest of the party out of a chest (the times I would like to ask a friend to sub in for my static but can't because they've already cleared for the week, or haven't yet and don't want to screw over their static), and still be "reasonable" enough to deter selling runs (though that still happens even now).

They should adjust this.
