    Season 5 ending soon?

    This is false?

We haven't even gotten patch 4.1 yet which is to be expected in Oct? Maybe Mid or late Oct? And 4.15 should follow in late Nov or early Dec?

How is Season 5 ending soon?

Why then post this page? I don't get it?

They have always posted it 1 week before every season end when blind week starts. Probably messed up dates because these kinds of announcements are posted automatically at a scheduled time. Or maybe their data shows ques are slowing down so it's indeed just a heads up for extra attention.

Seems dead to me few ppl still trying to make it into the top 100 but most Diamonds allready stopped, ppl dont wanna risk their spot in such a RNG heavy pvp mode wich i can understand, it causes more frustration then enjoyment for me personally..

Again, we need points decay. Securing a spot (without talk about how that spot was secured...) and kiss goodbye isn't correct.

That just means people will play only last 2-3 weeks because their previous earned points will decay anyway. And not everybody has time to que every day or every week for 3-4 months to prevent decay.

You mean, that people assuming they are so good to rank up from the ground, in last 3 weeks? Don't think anyone ranked before them will let them have it easy.

It depends how decay is implemented. Look at housing, to keep it you just have to arse in your house once a month. I'll expect from pvp something more but hardly it will be 4 hours a day for all the season, but more likely a minimal participation.

The likely implementation would be one game a week for players platinum and above. Low ranks usually aren't affected by rating decay systems and across the games, the period is usually very lenient.

Commonly, rating decay doesn't set in until about month of inactivity and that's for a simple reason: Since the point of a rating is to determine skill, the point of rating decay is to reflect the fact that you lose skill during prolonged inactivity. Realistically, you're not going to lose any noteworthy amount of skill within a week of inactivity and there's no point decaying it that fast.
In Glicko based rating systems the rating reliability factor commonly gets adjusted after some time as well and some games might opt to adjust only that factor, rather than decaying the rating as such (assuming that it will re-adjust swiftly to the correct values anyway).

I mean, talking about proper, serious ranking systems in this game is lolzworthy in its own right - In normal rating systems, climbing is only possible with a winrate over 50% and a winrate below 50% equals falling at any point in the ladder. In this game, people with a sub 50% winrate climb up into the top 100. That has nothing to do with a skill rating system. I don't know what it measures, but that simply is impossible in a skill rating system.
However, that's what makes it more likely this game would opt for a shorter period for decay, like a week, if it were to implement decay at all.
